So who besides me has one of these and what do you think?

Honestly not sure about it myself because I don't think I'm building it right

The airflow is definitely unique. So far only threw 1 build on it, a standard dual 6 wrap 24g. Had the coils pretty high on the deck just about even with the post holes. Idk though it reminds me of when I put too warm of a build on an rda with inadequate cooling. So again I don't think I'm doing it right.

I was wondering if that sleeve with the swirling airflow cut outs was removable. Try going with 26GA and put the coils up as high as possible without hitting the top cap that way the airflow hits onside and underneath the coils. I really don't know but that would be the way I would put my first build on it.

That design makes no sense to me, is there room to build your coils up higher and out further to get them into the airflow? Without direct airflow to the coils it would seem to be a rather lame RDA not sure what they were thinking? It does look nice though.

No there really is no way to get it directly over the airflow and only a little bit more headroom due to the drip tip.

Gonna try some 26g later and gonna try both raising the coil and lowering it. And o yeah forget claptons in this thing the post holes are pretty darn small.

Maybe try smaller diameter coils. Doesn't look like any room to get airflow behind the coils. The backside might just be getting too hot. I think there should be a path for airflow to get under the coils and up. If behind the coils is basically blocked, no upward flow behind the coils and not much underneath either.

Well, I would build them up higher even if you have to leave them in the center try and get them right next to the topcap so that some air has to hit them before going through the drip tip, that should help some. Just keep an eye on the cap to make sure it doesn't melt.

Yeah that's a good idea it is a 3mm coil I'll try smaller.

Just looking at your build compared to the ones Todd had in his review, his coils were much higher than yours. His looks almost like the center of his coils were even with the top of the posts and the top of the coil was even with the screws... Take a look at the 2:35 mark in the video.

Ok just tried a dual 7 wrap 26g around a 2mm bit and raised the coil up a hair higher, same vape really just feels like it's not getting enough airflow. Gonna try lowering a bit but doubt that'll work.

For flavour this is a great RDA and I can get plenty of vapour, sure it's no cloud chasing Atty but that is perfect for me.

You just need to muck about with the coil position till you find your own sweet spot.

I am digging this little RDA... (Okay, I just got a LowPro in a very generous vape mail today so throw some quotation marks 'round that "little". In fact, looking at the most recent of my dripping purchases, maybe the Vortice & its chamber would be more accurately described as medium-sized. Though how much flatter/smaller can these things get without entering into quantum theory?)

At any rate, I've had no trouble getting a vape I really like for those times when I'm wanting a dripper, but I don't want to commit to athletic cloud production nor do I want to drip every 5th pull. Also, I like to read and vape, which usually calls for a tank. But this thing's perfect for the task. Many of my attys, including tanks, blow so large & dense that I feel like I'm reading on a cliffside of a fog-swept highland.

Summary: good flavor, easy set-up after some trial — I was building for flavor and small-to-medium clouds, so dual 7-wrap 28g Kanthal at .6Ω, with half the height of the coils extending above the inner "vorti-cizing" airflow ring, with the coils positioned closer to the posts than I usually build. I can wick it generously and still enjoy free airflow, so dripping is occasional. Oh yeah, to achieve better flavor & desired temp., I jettisoned the chuff cap in favor of a Vapornaute drip tip (Can't remember the No., second-smallest) and the Vortice short cap. Depending on the DT I use, the vape temp ranges from cool to almost hot.

I'm missing the boat, I guess. I tried several builds and mine is too airy and really no big flavor for me. Nowhere near the flavor of a veritas, or a odin. I'm open to ideas, but its a dust collector for now.

Too airy is new for me and the Vortice, I get a tight draw with the unit I'm using even wide open - wicks using up extra interior real estate.

It's my first dripper RDA but I'm looking at a few other options for a second now but I'm liking the Vortice so far. -Mags

Guess I'm just spoiled with my two favorites all they need is a simple single coil.

I have found the Vortice to be amazing. After spending the past week with this RDA I have tried every build possible but what has worked the best for me is a single coil 28g 7 wrap 1.2 ohm running the 2 vent cover. I positioned the coil wit the top being even with the post screws and one side of the cover aligned with the coil. The vapor is super dense now with amazing flavor. I will admit all the other builds I tried were marginal at best.
