Anyone in or heading for the Atlanta area, be careful. Temp in the teens, (2'F with windchill), ice on almost all roads. a whole inch8-o of snow. 29 car pile up on the interstate 285. Not a big deal for most of the country but paralysis and panic for this area. Well, got to join the crowd, head to the store for milk and bread. Haven't figured out why yet, seems to be traditional.LOL Ice=panic=head for grocery store=more wrecks=more panic????? LOL. Gotta luv it. Ya'll take care and stay warm. You're all winners in my book.

twister-road conditions here are crap too. They didn't call off school to my surprise, idiots. I will go this afternoon for my usual Friday grocery run and probibly the casino for a buffet dinner plus gambling tonight. Thankfully I don't have to travel too far for either.
I agree that we are winners just because of the friendships we have formed here. I would be lost without being able to get on here and see what everyone is up to.
How far from Hinesville are you? I have an Uncle there. Kinda tossin around visiting during spring break, but not sure as there isn't a whole lot for teens to do.

Just about everything is shut down here. DOT is asking people to stay home at least until sunrise. Not expecting to get above freezing for a while. They just don't have the equipment to handle all the ice around here. I am amazed how many flights out of here are being canceled. I know they have the de-icing equipment. Maybe they're afraid of ice build up when they are airborne.
Hinesville is 271mi se of Atlanta. Last time I was there, years ago, it was a pretty quiet area. It's pretty close to Savannah. If you can get to Savannah, you have fine dining, great night clubbing, ocean fishing, beach combing. It's difinitely different.

Twister I surprised that there were no flights cancelled in Detroit. I watch CNN alot and they had all that info on there yesterday.
My daughter said the bus slid a couple of times on the way home yesterday, but being we are in Michigan we are supposed to be good at navigating in this stuff. The state police were telling people not to go out.
My Uncle goes to Savannah alot and I'm sure if we do go, he will make sure we are busy. My daughter is 15 so a beach with boys would be up her alley, lol. I know when he flies here, he leaves out of Jacksonville.
Thanks for the casino luck. I play the bandits and have a few that like me. My biggest payout to date is $108.00. My husband plays blackjack, I get too nerved up for that, afraid I'm gonna take a hit when I should stay etc. Some of those people take it way too serious.
I like the little ol ladies that sit down, play the minimum bet and wonder why they aren't winning anything. Then when you explain it to them they tell you they can't afford the max. Hello-maybe you shouldn't be here then! lol
I never go with the mind set that I'm gonna win. For me it's getting out of the house and around people other than the grocery store. Of course the best nights are when you get with a bunch of strangers and start cheering each other on. I think it makes the guy with his finger on the button scratch his head.

I know exactly what you mean by "being lost without coming to see everyone here". I have been a Forum Member at another place for 4 years now. This place is nothing like that other place.
On here, We all talk about anything, have fun, share personal stories, humor, advice,.......hell, you name it, I think it's been on ECF. The other place....very drab. Everyone is stuck up. Nobody shares info,and it seems like one big contest to see who is the best, except they don't give out a prize. I've been a member there for 4 years and to this day I don't think I've made a single REAL friend. I haven't signed in there since a month before I joined here, and for kicks I signed in lastnight. I didn't have one PM asking "Where have you been? Are you okay?" Nothing. I did have several requests to release the GUI for the media center I am working on. Nobody wanted to help me get it finished, when I needed the help, but they wanna reap the benifit of using it.
ECF has taken over that place in me that made me check that other Forum like a mad man.......and I'm sooooooooooo glad. At least here, almost everyone cares, and ain't just out to get what I have.

I'd like to think that some day, some how, some way we will all eventually meet in person. I think we will all be sore from all the hugs we will be exchanging!

haha...yeah, I always wonder why so many people head for the grocery store when they might be stuck for 3 days. I mean, do they really only keep enough on hand for their next meal?
Its cold here...for here....the horses water actually froze last night! I can't decide which I like better... a "real" winter with tons of snow or a mild winter.
Atlanta is way to humid for me...but it does have the very best airport in the US..IMO.

We have been having freezing rain and sleet pellets hitting the windows since about 2:30am here in Holiday, FL. Unreal!!
I just watched the forcast.. I wont be seeing any of that we are 3 degrees above freezing but I keep looking outside..LOL! They say we will warm up into 60's by Tuesday. Thankfully.. its ok for a few days but this is RIDICULOUS!
Me and my son went to the Stars/NY Islanders game last night here in Dallas and it was 15 degrees.... 1 degree with the wind chill factored in.

Im freezing ... Don't want to go anywhere LOL I looked for the snow but just got freezing rain here in Deltona, but I saw on the news there was snow in Ocala Fl wow!
