Vaughn, or anyone else whom can answer. Does the ebonized oak with the copper look more black or dark brown? Trying to find a matching drip tip. Those of you who know me, know how I like to be all matchy matchy. Already have a copper derringer earmarked for it [emoji6]

Here is a pic for reference

If say that looks equal copper/black/brown, I'm sure driptip Designz do a couple in these colours which would match.

Thanks robbie. Sometimes my eyes play tricks. I was eyeballing a black Widebore True Stone with copper veining in it over there. [emoji6] I get most of my tips from MHM and occasionally from DTD. Would be awesome to have one made from the same wood!

The colour is dark brown, slightly darker in real life than the photo suggests though...

I wanna see the other grain on a mod! I know you included that vernacular in our message, but I'm not going to pretend to be enlightened on the subject.:)

Have you tried pressed wire? I use to always use a loosely twisted 26awg wire, pressed around 14,000psi(maybe 1,400?lol). It was a great vape for me, especially with verticals on bottom fed airflow. Held too much heat afterwards with a normal/wick through coil build...in my trials and derp errors.

Never tried pressed wire, sounds interesting though. most of my builds are 30g as I find the best flavor there for me. Tripple twisted in triple parallel is my go-to at .2 or slightly above on 2.5mm as a single coil or chain wire in parallel. plaited double 30 was nice but a pain in the .... to build lol.

Here is a pic to explain the grain pattern....

I do have some oak closer to quarter on the wide face, so both figures will show, but not as tight as the sample...more like the rift board shown

When you said parallel, I thought this...definitely will try again when I have a bottom feeder.. Worked great, but not so much in a tobh with no well..

I always say dual-tripple wire coils...my field is mostly electrical theory and pushing buttons, so parallel always makes me go derp.

However, it is perfectly logical to call them that. I jus ignant.

That's an interesting build, how does it vape? I have thought about doing this, but it would make a long wicking process!
I generally do mine this way...

Except with 2 or 3 twisted wires. I must admit though, I popped in a fused Clapton last night with 36g around 2 twisted 30g in the core, and its vaping nice at .4. may just be a new favourite once I get the res down a little...

I would need an electron microscope to be able to see 36g wire!!!

That's what I thought too, but its not hard once you get the first bit wound. certainly worth trying!

Holding my breath waiting for the timber package and buffalo horn to arrive, hopefully today. In the meantime theres 3 oak mods on the go, 2 from the list and the experimental natural colour mod with bone fill and bone caps. pics of that up in a couple of days though...

Love it. Pics never quite do the spalted beech justice though. silver switches are on their way for these and other mods sold, sent last week so well on their way...

Totally agree, the spalted beech is an amazing wood, the last pic was taken in a dim room, couple more under better light levels [emoji6]
