Has anyone received a block that stinks so bad you have to set it outside.
Does it go away with time.
In the meantime, I'm leaving it outside in the garage ... afraid to send it to V
What causes it (not dried enough) ??
Any suggestions ??

i know rob of reosmods won't work with some timbers for this reason, some are unsafe to inhale particles too
what material is it? i'm sure someone will know
It's a block of acrylic stabilize wood ...maple burl I believe.
I found it on e-bay, and V took a look at it.
He ok'd it, as far as size, flaws, etc ... but it stinks so bad I had to put it out in the garage.
It must be what they used to stabilize the block, and maybe it hasn't had enough time to dry.
I wrote the seller this morning, but haven't heard back yet.
(I'm not sending it to V until the odor goes away)

Looked long this time. Still not 100% sure my hybrid blocks will be workable.

Thanks Doffy .. I just got this answer back from the seller, so I have some hope for it
"Hello! Unit is freshly prepared. maybe I'm not warmed it further. the smell will go away, but to quickly remove it, you can warm up at about 60 C for 3-4 hours. I apologize for the inconvenience - a large volume of orders, and there may be minor errors. happy to answer your questions."
