This is an oak test piece sandblasted and ebonized. Sintered copper and finish will be interesting.

Thanks Rossum, I'll be trilled to make you one! will work out to $50NZ more than the standard price to supply the silver though. Thinking out loud, may enquire as to the price of low grade sheet gold (9ct) or similar to see how prohibitive it is...may not be too bad....hmmm...

haha ill take that as a compliment! lol. Feels good to bust out a technique I developed 15 years ago, just in a different format. Will be many hours in building the finish in the tiny voids in the copper fill, but well worth it! If you like this Robbieblood I can make yours the first!

Not too bad time wise, but small mistakes mean lots of hours at the other end if not careful. All the tecniques I have used in my turned and carved work have translated well into making mods...

I should have known that someone would ask why make mods!
I did make a living as an artist for 5 years or so before 9/11, mainly selling to high end tourists from the US, Europe, and Saudi, Qatar etc as kiwis can't afford these things for the most part. After 9/11 I went down 90% within 10 days, and stayed there squashing the business as the tourism market collapsed. The biggest issue now is that our GST tax takes the first 15%, then the gallery takes 50%, then expenses and tax take much of the remaining, so it is hard to survive doing this.
Mods - Love em. love vaping. love making them. And selling abroad direct means no GST and no commission to pay.....

Robbie, can I ask what kind of wood this beauty is? Not that I need another squonker, but I'm about to talk myself into one of these [emoji6]

Vkiwi, what type of woods are available? And how far out are you with orders? I have also been eyeballing that Ebonized oak/copper inlay [emoji4]

......and really, really liking the Red Beech Burr!
