One other to possibly consider and is getting good feedback from the forum is the vamo. I have both the vamo and evic. I hope to get a provari soon too.

For my vaping experience I prefer the vamo over the evic. having the ability to update the evic firmware is cool, but performance wise I give it to the vamo. Again this is only comparing the vamo and evic since I do not have a provari to compare with.

The vamo will cost roughly a little less than the evic with multiple batteries and a decent charger.

Either the VAMO or Volcano Lavatube 2 would be well within in your budget, and both are very highly rated. I picked up a Lavatube 2 stater kit a few months ago for around $160. Included the mod, battery, charger, Tank, carrying case & one free 15ml liquid of your choice. By the time you buy all the similar stuff for the VAMO, you'd be at about the same price point. I use both, and would recommend either for your first foray into the VV world...but for a new user, I would lean more toward the Lavatube just because their kit has everything you need to get started in one simple package, has online & phone support if you have problems or questions, and my experience with their service has been outstanding. The thing also vapes like a freight train!

Have fun :2cool:

Provari would put you over $200. There are a number of cheap VV mods out there. Check out the subforums for the different devices. I use a Lavatube clone personally. The most important thing is making sure the vendor has a warranty and has good feedback on the forum.

To be fair, a basic Provari is $159. You can also find slighltly blemished ones in the clearance section for less than that. Something to keep in mind is that when you buy a Provari, you are in fact investing into the Provape company and it's reknown customer service. You get a 1 year warranty, and an option to purchase another year on top of that if you want that extra security. Even after the warranty expires, Provape will continue to service any bad Provari for already posted repair fees. No PV's made in China can offer that kind of service.

The consistancy and durability of a Provari is unmatched. Provari's hold their resale value as well as any PV. If you are looking for a long term answer in a PV, the Provari is an excellent choice.

Does that $159 include batteries and chargers? I have a 1 year warranty on my Lavatube clone. I sent it in to my vendor and had a replacement sent within days. Yes, it failed, but I got it for $60, including batteries and a charger. I would certainly like a Provari, but cheap mods are great as long as the vendor has good customer service.

I own both a Provari and a Sigelei Smax and for what you are trying to spend I would get a S-max kit, an extra 18650 battery and a nice tank for that $200. The VW is great on it and the VV and ohm readings are about dead accurate compared to my Provari. I would say like others did though, if you want the great customer service, a quality product and good ol made in the USA well then definitely go Provari but the S-max is very great and I find myself using it just as much as any of my other mods. Goodluck there is a lot of options out there, Im not good at deciding thats why I buy all of them lol.

why provari rated so high?? Quality? Service?..i m pretty noob... Thanks for replies

Provape has excellent customer service. Their products are very well made, and built to last. While I would discourage any intentional abuse, they have a reputation for surviving accidents (e.g., Drops). Though they are variable voltage only, the voltage is spot on. Many others mods (APV's) are not. Provape also has in the past upgraded the amp limit, and for $20 a Provari owner could upgrade his/her device (i.e., Didn't have to buy a new device, Just get an upgrade).
However, they are expensive to many, although I have heard some say that purchasing a Provari has saved them money (Not having to buy anything else). I can't say they have saved me any money. As much as I would like to be the type of guy that could just buy a Provari and be done, I like other things as well. In the little over a year I've been vaping, I have several mods, including a Provari Mini. I'll probably always be the kind that buys the newest thing (After good reviews of course).
When I started, variable voltage or variable wattage cost $200+. Now, you can buy it less than $50. I still use my Provari daily. However, I like to play. That said, I've heard good things about the Evic. Especially since the 1.2 firmware update. Joyetech generally makes good products. Will it last as long as a Provari, I doubt it. Does it (the Evic) have newer technology ? Yes. And the ability to download new firmware for free is a plus. However, I wonder will they continue to provide firmware updates once sales slow down and they need a new device to market (Only time will tell). In regards to wattage (Power), when you alter the voltage or the resistance of your atomizer/cartomizer/clearomizer, you are effectively altering the wattage (I own both Variable wattage and variable voltage devices). In my opinion, there's a learning curve with both, and once you find your sweet spot, they taste the same. Some just have cooler ways to get to the destination, and some are prettier or smaller or shinier.
Advise: Buy what you want and can afford. If there is a general consensus that says they are bad or problematic, it's probably true. In regards to what the best is, that's heavily opinionated. Ask yourself the question: do I have to have the latest thing, or do I just want to buy one and be done with it. That may help you decide what to buy. Good luck.

$40 for a Vamo is great.

But then you have to factor in shipping, batteries, a charger, etc.

Comes out to more than an eVic from Quantum Vapor with free shipping and the discount code.

I'm not cheap, I'm poor, and right now an eGo and clearos is doing it for me.

The link I posted is a kit. Has 2 batteries and a charger included, plus 2 vivi novas
