Hello vets,

I am fairly new to vaping but want to try vv to see what the fuss is about. I also work from home and am rarely far from an outlet, so to save the money of branching into a full mod kit I thought a vv Passthrough would be a great way to start.

I don't really need another ego style battery so having something simpler without the added complexity and weight is what I would prefer. Also something that can actually manage the higher voltages would be nice as I have heard that some say they work at 5v but really only work at the power source voltage.

Any suggestions as to a proven product would be greatly appreciated.

VV and passthrough are two different concepts, and while they have been combined - the one I know of and have is the eGo sized vari volt from vaporkings. It's range is 3.2v to 4.2v basically, and there are other vv devices that range from 0- 7.4volts but are not passthroughs. There may be some I don't know about :)

That said there are 5 volt passthroughs in the cig style size - like the 510 from madvapes and the KR8 from V4L and likely others now as well. But they are 'variable' - just higher voltage than you'd get from the standard cig style batts.

I have the vari volt from vaporkings:
Joye eGo or Joye 510 variable voltage USB passthrough

Probably the smallest vv passthrough you can get right now. It works fine. I use it for my coffee vape which requires more wattage than most of my ejuices. I have it set to the 4.2v setting and use a 1.5Ω cisco 306lr on it for 11+ Watts, which vapes just as good as my Big Brother VV mod set at 6+Volts with a 4.0Ω atty getting about the same Wattage.
