I find this a little plain looking?

Well, now that you put it that way, you may be right. The side hole shown like that doesn't look very inviting but my request for the 2 extra magnets near the bottom still stands though.:D

I am sure Rob will rack his brain and eventually decide on what is best, he always does. Ergonomics, practicality and function are important, then again so are looks.

I love the custom half circle radius cut the way Rob cut the side and back out, I would like to see that just a bit smaller with the edges eased over. This looks amazing in my opinion and very comfy of a squank to say the least, I think pushing the button and squanking with that set up will Rule the squanking/Firing world :2cool:

I want one of those Clappers installed in my Box, this way when I leave it somewhere in the house I can just clap and a light and whistle siren goes off in my Reo :)

This is exactly why I have a red/red coming Monday. The wood blends in too well and plays hide and seek with me at home.

I am content to get what Rob decides he wants to make. I have no issues with the many devices he has built and while I appreciate his asking for comments, he always comes up with the best design.

This is one of those times that I figure I should leave it up to the expert.

Sometimes too many cooks spoil the broth :) I am not referring to anyone in particular. Please do not flame me.....

ps. I HAVE been to a star trek convention. not on purpose, but have been to one.

Sometimes even a group of experts get tunnel vision and it just takes 1 new fresh idea from a bystander to solve difficult problems. Not saying this is a problem. It's a good fresh idea though and I like it. :2c:

Beezer, you're not going to believe this but I also have the exact same red/red coming to me which is also due to arrive on Monday. Actually my tracking says Saturday the 21st is the approximate expected delivery date but since it has not yet landed in Hawaii, I doubt it will arrive today. This will be my 4th Grand.:D

Well, 2am and time for me to sleep. Aloha and goodnight everyone.:)

Ok so just so you no I am listening Help me out here Lauren I think this is what you were asking .

As a future Reo owner, I think that opening is a little too accessible..? Maybe make it about 1/2 the depth, and extend it to both sides. ... oh.. wait... you cant. 'Cause the door, right? LOL Nevermind! (Can ya tell i'm a newbie?) But I think it IS a bit too big of an opening though, personally.

I'm seriously excited about getting a Reo. Just gotta save up enough to justify the new toy. :)

Maybe a new Reo Woody or Grand with the Evolve modders board would be a cool one to work with Wayne :2cool:

I too would like to see 'ole redeye working with the kick. I envision a reo grand with the kick hard mounted, but in an easily accessible spot (like behind the delrin insert). In place of the current power button , there would instead be a dial that LOOKS like the current power button to adjust the wattage (with a rubber grommet to protect against juice). The actual power button would be in the exact same place and configuration as the current plan for the VV grand. Finally, ring finger access to the bottle (either a swoop cut or a rectangular cut....I don't really care). The mod would still take an 18650 for fantastic battery life. All the parts would be easily replaceable at home if something were to go wrong (which eventually happens with every piece of electronics no matter how well built).

BUT......I support the current VV project he's going going. It's gonna be AWESOME. Being that he decided to go with a battery stack VV pot this time around, he got the best one available IMO. He'll settle on all the specifics, launch the product in a very professional way, support the product with the fantastic customer support we've all come to expect, and it'll be the best VV bottom fed mod on the market at the time of it's launch. I am very confident about these predictions.

I'm going to buy a VV grand at launch or as close to it as I can........maybe even a VV woodvil as well, but I'll keep thinking about my dream mod. Maybe one day it'll happen.

This has been talked about but it will all depend on Evolve getting the chip ready for Rob to do some testing on.

You never know what Rob will do next :)

I'm pretty sure it wont be with the "Kick" but with the Modders board instead, but who knows.

My fiance + mother both looked at the pic of the cut out reo and started drooling.

They both use grands and their biggest gripe is squonking the bottle with fingernails. Both say all the time that they end up bending/breaking fingernails because the bottle is difficult to squonk.

That deep recessed cutout that rob did would definitely solve that problem!

I have longish fingernails, not super long, but I use my thumb to squonk, fingernail between the bottle and the battery. Works well for me and have never broken a nail on my REO.

It's not a dealbreaker for them, they absolutely love the grand. Just a little quality of life gripe.

I've read most of the posts in this thread but could have missed something (but looked at all of the pictures). I have 2 comments.

1. Please remember that some of us have fairly small hands and not tons of strength in the ring and little finger.

2. Although I will buy a metal VV Reo regardless of its size, shape, or bottle and squonk hole layout; actually, multiples of them if there are multiple sizes, I am dreaming of a VV Woodvil in a carry-with-me size model (as well as a larger VV Woodvil for desk use).

vv woodvil prototype I was determined to get this done today . For some reason the snow didn't care that I wanted to use my vv woodvil . No finish a dry box .I buggered the vv chip cover its mine I can live with it I wanted to vape it . I may end up using plastic for the vv cover . I had to make the mod a whisker taller then a standard woodvil you can see in the first pic .
I have to say I am really enjoying this mod :vapor:
