That is not the USP grade 100mg that we are discussing on this thread.
I never really looked before but YES on the Bottle it says USP Grade Nicotine so if it does not say that I guess it is not. I would bet I will vape this whole bottle long before it yellows. Thanks for the pictures!

I would just stick with what strength you feel comfortable with. saving a couple bucks is not worth feeling uncomfortable or unsafe. I too have a child and animals. I also have a spot to mix that only I have access to.
It is normally when a person feels uncomfortable or unsafe that problems happen - also when a person is too much at ease and to me I take caution when mixing around anyone who never smoked being facts show they are the most in Danger.
I personally treat 100mg nic the same as 26mg nic so I do not mine working with 100mg nicotine. Just go from the mail box to the mixing table, Open your 100mg nic in the 120ml size bottle pour half of it in another 120ml size bottle after shaking up up and top off both bottles with PG/VG and now you have 2 Bottles of 50mg nicotine! Shake em up and start mixing with a safer level. store the second 120ml bottle in a dark cool place in a air tight zipper lock bag until needed. Done...

Your some what right.

The vendor received their first bottle of nic on 3.9.12 and I received my first bottle a week later..... that I have left about 10ml in bottle to see what happens over time.

With about a week shipping time from china ..... and then how long ago it was bottled in china?

It is more than likely older than 3 months.

Next time I will be sure and check my dates better.... sorry for confusion

To clarify, first you say:

... I used mine up too fast so I could not test longer than 3 weeks. I got more coming so will put some off to side for 6 months and see what happens

Then:

Almost 3 months and my vz bottle of usp 100mg nic is still clear....

I do keep it tucked away from sunlite and only bring it out when I need to use it

and finally:

Your some what right.

I don't personally feel confused at all. I feel something a little different, which isn't new anyway.

We end up with some interesting bottles here. One's that someone tucked away secretly, the one that only comes out when you need to use it (which must not be the one saved by someone), and well the one that's "ungone" :p

BTW, I don't think any of us would assume someone would measure the age of their nic from the time it was "born in China". Who in the heck knows that? Wouldn't you have referred to your nic 4+ weeks old back on 4/10 in that case? I think an honest comparison for all is to mention what it looks like when they receive it and measure from that time (or at least when it shipped TO THEM) forward. That's how the rest of us without special vendor info do it anyway.

Exposure to air is what changes the color of nic. Does not effect the potency but as Kurt has posted many times, air is what should oxidize the nic and make it turn color. I would have to wonder why yours has not changed.

I have tried nic from many different vendors. Some I like and some I do not. I did not realize that offense would be taken by me posting my opinion here.

I will refrain from doing that in the future :)
I think You should speak Your mind.:)

Guys I keep my Nic in the deep freezer and it stays clear, leaving it out at room temp and it changes, no matter who's Nic it is of a decent quality. I have Nic in the freezer that is 2yrs old now still looks great, and Nic that was left out in a bottle that is a dark golden color. I would still use that Nic in the freezer but no way will I use the Nic that was left out that's the deep golden color, also the smell of the 2 is much different with the golden color Nic that's left out smelling pretty nasty. Put that Nic in the freezer as soon as you get it you will be glad ya did.

The Nic takes time to start changing color, so Nic from March isnt going to change to much, look at it in August or so compared to a small bottle you put in the freezer. Also it's a good idea to shrink wrap the bottle caps so no oxygen can get in the bottles, and fill the bottles to the very top so there is no room for oxygen in the bottle, also use glass bottles it makes a Big difference as well. It's more like the 3-4month mark and the 7-8 month mark you will notice change in Nic that is left out.

Anyone that is concerned abou color change with nic may want to read the thread about it by two very reputable chemists here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/86000-word-about-nicotine-purity-storage.html

This is the first post

A word about nicotine purity/storage

Much is made of trying to find the optimal storage conditions for nicotine concentrates to be diluted into working eliquids. Similarly, much is also made of finding concentrates with good pure nicotine.

These are good things, but ultimately, I wonder how much they really matter.

Consider this image from Exogenesis. This is from his vapor trapping experiments where he set up an apparatus to auto-vape e-liquid and electrostatically condense the vapor for nicotine determination:

On the left, you see eliquid made from pharma grade nicotine. On the right you see the same liquid after it's been atomized and condensed.

No matter how well we source and store the stuff, the stuff on right is what we're vaping, not the stuff on the left. After all, the last thing we do before we inhale our precious liquid is heat it up aggressively in a stream of air containing about 20% oxygen.

I'm not out to make a big deal about this inescapable fact of vaping, but it's at least something to consider when we might be tempted to worry excessively about our concentrates getting a slight yellow/brown tinge.
