Before you go any further, I just want to say that I in no way, shape, or form recommend doing what I have visualized here. Doing this is only for vapers with a lot of experience building/rebuilding rba/rda/etc. Proceed at your own risk!

Basically I had a burnt coil in my Kanger Protank and I was curious to see if it was possible to get the resistance, safely, under 1 ohm, and to be able to use the Protank on my Caravela clone....

STEP2.jpgI didnt have any 28gauge kanthal, so I just used 30 gauge and made braided wire :D

Just my opinion. Not a good idea, because you'll probably scorch the rubber grommet and get a rubbery taste. Check the grommet the next time you recoil and you'll likely see scorch marks. Unless you're using nr wires as the legs, which may be more effort than it's worth. Micro coils may help to lessen the chances of scorching the grommet too.

Just my 2 cents cause I don't have a protank 2, only protank, and I'm assuming it's about the same.

Danny4x4: yes your right, except for the actual design(removable drip tip, removable glass section for cleaning) it is pretty much the same. I haven't had an issue with it getting scorched, but I could totally see how it could happen. I'm going to try to get mine around 1 ohm next time.

If you want to see a video tutorial on exactly how to do this, step by step; Visit GrimmGreen's youtube channel, he has a video where he replaces the coils and wick on his Protank 2

Basically the whole point to me trying to do this: (besides seeing if it was even possible for me to do it), was to be able to use my Protank-Dos on my mechanical. I was trying to find that sweet spot, because using a standard protank coil heads on a mech (too weak), and I don't even want to attempt stacking batteries (not only do I not have any experience with that and it could be very dangerous, but It would destroy the stock coil at ~ 6 volts).

And I don't have a kick, so recoiling was my only option
