..so I let my friend (this girl) borrow my one and only e-cig (1100mh battery with BCC vapeonly tank and the standard juice in it)
and what do you know, she breaks it and so out of desperation and state of shock, I bought the Itaste MVP for $45.16 on fasttech.
That was on July 4th..
it's July 9th now, and I just have received $100 from a good friend of mine and waaa :*( I could've gotten a provari..

I know it won't come with batteries or charger or anything like that..but I've been wanting a provari for the longest now, well at least I have $100 now but I need to get a haircut, and get food. What should I do ?!?!
should I save my $100 and try my best to save another $40 (which I think I can get within the next three weeks if I'm really good at saving, which I kind of am) and get a blemished provari from provape.com ?

then I'll have two devices, the MVP and the Provari.. but then I want to get a glass carto tank too :(
Ahh.. this is driving me nutss

+1 its easy to get sucked into the pace of wanting the higher end stuff. when i started out i got sucked in pretty bad. im just going juice now, there are so MANY! i think the MVP was a great buy. if you really want a provari save up as you can for the batteries and charger to. im sure the MVP will be good for you. maybe by the time you get saved up there will be a better provari.

A better ProVari?

Such heresy.

OP-

Save up for your ProVari until you can afford it, some first rate batteries, and a high quality charger.

I'm all for people saving up and getting what they want, but if you are truly in a budget quandary between buying food and buying a Provari (with no batteries or charger?!? ...it's a paper weight), you should let loose of the Provari dream for a while and get your priorities in life straight. Trust me, the only person who feels you are "in a non-contractually binding agreement with the ecf members to get a picture of a provari as their cameo" is YOU. The MVP is a solid device - I have one on order myself (and I have 2 Provaris) ...lots of people here have MVPs and are perfectly happy with them. Learn to be content with what you have/can afford. Your life is going to go a lot easier if you do.

Secondly, life lesson #2, stop letting your friends "borrow" stuff you can't afford to lose. Just assume from now on that when you hand something of yours over to a "friend", it's a GIFT, not a LOAN. Maybe ...just MAYBE ...if they are truly a good friend, they may re-gift your item back to you at a later date in the same condition in which you gave it to them, but this more often the exception, not the rule.

Yes, Provaris are nice and I have one & love it, but there are other mods that are nice too. I also have a Tesla which I like holding more than the Provari because I have big hands. It was half the price of a Provari. That being said, if anything happened to my Provari, I would probably replace it because yea, it's that good.

Biker Beagle summed it up. While I, too, own a ProVari, I use my Twist, Vamo, Zmax, and eGo-VV Mega just as much, if not more than, my ProVari. I still use my 808 Volts on a daily basis, as well.

Resist Mod Envy. There are good enough devices out there. The MVP is a solid unit. Owning a ProVari isn't some kind of tribal right of passage. Anyone bragging about owning a ProVari is probably still new to the scene and has not learned the nature of humble-ness (sorry for the made up word!).

Some day I'll probably get a Provari. Kinda watching and waiting for now though. The way the tech is evolving surely there will be improvements to what is arguably already the best regulated device. May also spend Provari $$ for an ELA mech while I'm waiting :p

That's a tough one there. It's always advisable to have back-ups, but if other things are more important than a provari I would get done what I need to get done. Save what is left over and continue to save and little by little you'll soon have a provari on the way.

This is what I am doing. The wait is killing me but I'm almost there.

Food is more important than a mod. Buy a couple ego batteries until you can afford a better mod

Yeah umm.. gonna have to go with Chad on this.. I'd say eating (and living) is more important than any PV.. anyone who says otherwise is drinking the kool-aid.
Get some food. Get an ego. Get a haircut and buy at YOUR own pace.. it's not a competition. :)

From what I see, the MVP is not a bad choice. They have been around long enough now that if there were any glaring problems with them we would know about it. So enjoy your new toy.

The way I got my Provari was to buy something that I could afford THAT WOULD LAST (I chose the Silver Bullet). Not needing to replace PV's faster than the mailman could get them here allowed me to save up for my Provari.

I love my ProVari. I love all of my mods, there are pros and cons to each one. I'm glad I advanced slowly - I had a 650mAh eGo for months before I even got a Twist. From each step I gained confidence and was able to better appreciate the next level. I got my ProVari to celebrate my six month tobacco-free milestone. It made it super extra special, like Christmas morning!

But in the end, it's a tube that holds batteries. Don't get me wrong, it's a fabulous tube, built like a tank, aesthetically pleasing, feels great in your hand, made in the US! Ummm...so is a Maglite. My unsolicited advice is to take your time and enjoy the journey. I still use my Twists all the time.
