You can use unscented tampons also they are rayon and cotton. I have never used them but in a pinch you bet ya
So, one should probably do the repurposing of the tampon early on right? Any idea how long they remain unscented? Just curious... Thinking about trying it.You can use unscented tampons also they are rayon and cotton. I have never used them but in a pinch you bet ya

So I needed some cotton for my new rda and I was at walmart so I picked up some swissper 100% cotton balls. It didn't say that they were organic I looked but couldn't find those. Anyway, it tastes fine, but I can't seem to find any info about whether it has been treated with chlorine or peroxide. The reason I ask is because I am not boiling. I have a dog that sheds like crazy and I live in florida so between the moisture and dog hair boiling doesn't seem to be too sanitary for me. I just want to make sure I am not harming me or my husband by doing this.
It's the same argument people have about organic vegetables, right? Have you eaten fast food lately? You've just ingested exponentially more chemicals than you will by vaping with non-organic cotton. It comes down to what you're comfortable with. Will using organic cotton lessen toxins? Maybe, but do you consider this factor when buying meats from the store? Vegetables? Canned foods? Snacks for your kids? Juice boxes? Toilet paper? Napkins? Cups?
For average people, the answer is "No". You will be fine. I have bought both and there's no difference in performance and I've had no adverse health issues so far. You're going to be inhaling largely untested chemicals ... why stop and ponder the implications of which cotton you use? Not knocking vaping or you, just the impressionable ideas people try to push on others, making someone feel wrong for using normal cotton. It's asinine and I've seen it so many times in many forums. In the end, it's about exactly what I said before, being comfortable with your decisions. You can read all you want, but ultimately you will make your decision. If you're comfy with WalMart cotton, go for it. If you want to spend $20 on Japanese organic cotton, go for it. If you vape with it and are content, then you've made the right decision.
EDIT: This is probably the first time I've saddled up my horse to express something negative on this forum, but after re-reading, I still agree with myself. I hope it will not be taken the wrong way by anyone.
I personally do not care about organics in general simply because the ground is full of toxic crap anyway. The only concern I had with the walmart cotton was the potential inhalation of bleach/chlorine. I've had my fair share of ingesting pool water, but I don't want it in my lungs. From what I have read cotton cleaned with peroxide breaks down to h20 so this is not a concern for me. The problem is that I can't find anything online that shows how this specific cotton has been treated. Other than worrying about that I actually like this cotton. It has a much cleaner flavor that "cotton bacon" (yuck) but it does mute my flavors more than I would like. But I totally get your point. Does it cross my mind what kind of garbage is in the Mcdonalds I love so much? Yes! Do I still eat it? If I could without gaining a gazillion pounds I would eat is everyday! The hype of organic is not really a factor for me I wouldn't mind trying it, but I just want to have something that has not been treated with bleach or chlorine type solutions. It's been a couple days and I feel fine with this cotton so I will continue to use up what I have and then give organic a try if I can find it. I've looked everywhere and no one seems to carry it. Go figure![]()
If it says 100% organic, it is probably OK to use. Do yourself a favor and do not go cheap and fast when ordering rebuilding supplies. Order from reputable online vape suppliers. Less expensive, maybe, most of the ECF approved suppliers can make sure you get what you need to be safe.
Interesting..I never really thought about that..Thanks!!Unless you use distilled or RO water to boil or rinse your cotton all you're doing is adding minerals chemicals & contaminants to your cotton.
Many do not evaporate and are concentrated & infused into the material by the boiling process.
You know there is no such thing as NON-ORGANIC cotton... All Cotton is organic. Now SOME companies have PAID a liscence fee in order to put a label on the bag. Inorganic cotton is called rayon and polyester.
