I'm late to the fancy coil thing, but recently found Clapton's to be pretty awesome coils. I made my own 24k/30n (kanthal/nichrome), but only had 30' of 30ga nichrome to learn the tricks and make a short length. Now, I'm enjoying 4-strand twisted 26ga SS 316l. It's clean but not as full as the recent Clapton builds. I want to bulid/make 26/30 all SS Clapton, but am unable to source 30ga 316l online. Anybody help a fella out? In a pinch, I can grab some 30ga kanthal or nichrome, locally, but would like to try all SS.

These guys are in the UK so shipping takes a while, but they have numerous gauges/formulas of SS.

Crazy Wire Company Ltd

Try this link at Ebay. $10 with free shipping in the USA.
SS 316L - Stainless Steel Wire 100ft of 30 Gauge AWG

Here's a long fan thread for SS Clapton coils. You might find some info that's useful.
The clapton coil hype is real. • /r/electronic_cigarette
That's good stuff, right there. Thank you. I've stayed shy of eBay due to their position on vapor products, so I had not considered them for coil and wick products. I nabbed 28ga 316 (no spool :-( ) off Amazon and wrapped 28ga kanthal with it.

The really good part is that 316L is surgical grade SS. You have to watch out for plated products offered for use in flower shops and such.

I order here and there from Ebay, but I have a Prime account at Amazon and I order anything that's not cheaper locally from them.

I do try to support one local vape shop if their price is reasonable, though. I've bought several VV/VW and one TC mod and paid $10 to $20 more from them, but I understand that they have overhead to pay. That, and the fact that they honor warranty failures with a swap over the counter. That came in handy with the iStick 50W.

Can you enlighten me on this statement?

I bought a Authentic eVic VTC Mini off there, some heads, and just sold a eVic VT-60W 5000 Black with racing stripe.
Just wondering, if you want too you can message me with that info.

Don't know if he got back to you, but eBay's position is that vape products are tobacco, and they don't allow tobacco. They routinely shut down vendors and freeze or terminate PayPal accounts. Seems like every 6 months or so there will be a flurry of threads about it when a purge happens.

Ahhh i see. I do not think i have to worry, i am a small fish in a big pond. I buy a few things, but only sold the VT-60, so i would say i am safe. No plans on selling anything else lol, i do not own anything else i could get rid of as far as vaping stuff goes. Im trying my darndest to sell computer parts right now just to get a Coil toolkit and the whole setup to make it easier on myself when my RBA tanks show up.
Thanks for the reply, cleared that up for me.

Kidney puncher has multiple gauges if 316l now as well as up to 40gauge for Clapton's....I love the taste however the resistance with lower gauge ss and ss Clapton wire is the resistance is so low your looking at high number of wraps to keep the resistance in sane proportions. With Clapton's its not as bad because the core wire is usually 26-28guage which helps a bit but when running fused cores it can drop it very low. Also I bought some 22guage stainless and to even get a .2 resistance dual coil with 3mm I'd it took like 11 or 12 wraps lol 12 wraps with 22g makes for one ginormous freaking coil he he oh lordy the taste is very very nice though and 316l Clapton's in temp control give such an Amazing freaking flavor its worth it

Do you find that the coils you build yourself with SS react better to the TC than stock coils...or do you still need to manipulate the TCR values for your ideal vape?
They sometimes do I mean for the most part if my mod supports 316l I havent had many problems fortunately compared to all the posts with people using custom TCR values. On my DNA I use a couple of different profiles for different builds also I refuse to use my kbox120 i hate its ss tc and its battery life!!! On my cuboid i have had to use a tcr to dial in my vape although the pre programmed one wasnt horrible I just had to turn up the temp higher then I like. My istick 100tc has an awesome 316l vape right out of the box and my updated rx200 ismt to shabby either. Its really a preference thing and I'm glad most new tc mods have adjustable TCR values !!

I think that is one of the main things that has me on the fence with getting SS myself for coil building is if the TC is going to act right. But it seems that as far as SS is concerned its going to be a dial in type thing rather than plug and play. Which is fine i have a few TCR values I use for SS... just was wondering if the whole pre-built coils having "nickel leads" leading to poor performance in SS TC was easily recognizable with a full custom built SS coil. And obviously the answer is no...TC is going to be just that... Dialing in your ideal vape to limit/minimize dry/burnt hits.... and Im cool with that....thank you

Ok, heres what i ordered as a tank with the RBA included. Would a SS coil, using the SS316 TC setting on my VTC Mini fit in this? I mean, what resistance does a SS coil have to be to use the TC setting on the VTC Mini? I hope that SS will work in this tank. Selling a computer motherboard, processor and memory package set on Ebay and then going to use the money to get my coil building kit soon. I just think SS is better health wise is why i am wanting to work with SS and try to use my TC mode. I know a couple of SS TRC settings also that might work well. So honestly, what is the regular resistance normally used for SS316 TC mode?
Thanks for all the wonderful information.

Resistance is the same as any other wire...build to your preference from .25-1.5. It all depends on you. Yes your vtc mini will recognize the wire when you coil one into your rba... The top tank mini also comes with a stock stainless steel coil so you can play with that also. Temp control is not a resistance feature...it is merely a means to limit prevent dry/burnt hits. I don't think you will be disappointed
