Been vaping for a while now, started with a ego aio then got given a jaybo rx mini with avacoda rta which broke very quickly (the mod that is) been using my house mates blade with a smok rta. His rig seems good but feels cheap. I want an RTA for everyday use an RTA for when I'm at home and experimenting with new flavours etc. Any advice appreciated thanks guys.

Best us pretty subjective. How do you like to vape and what's your budget?
Budget doesn't really matter. I used to be a smoker and my ego aio was great but now I want something beefier.
If budget is no matter you can get stuff like stabilized wood Vicious Ant stabilized wood DNA 250c mods for ~$750 (and yes, it's beautiful) a Lost Vape DNA 250c Triade for ~$150 (same board and performance as the VA, still nicely made but hardly a handmade unique product).
More down to earth if you're not looking for high end temp control stuff would IMO include a Smoant Cylon ~$50. Nicely made and performs well in both power mode and even in TC if you ever want to get into that.
Tanks, well there are Squapes from Switzerland that are great and run about ~$150. Leans more to mtl style vaping although that's changed a bit in their latest tank the E motion. Closer to the ground is an augvape Intake. Single coil top air with a slightly restricted draw and terrific flavor and one of my faves. That goes around $30 and the top air makes it a great pocket carry as no leaking.
So honest, budget does come into play and more importantly the type and style of vape you're looking for to make sound recommendations that make sense for you.

OK thanks. Been looking at that one and the think vape finder dna 250 and lost Vape paranormal. Would you recommend the tac over them?
Are you a MTL (mouth to lung) or DTL (direct lung) vaper? That will help determine what type of juice delivery device you choose. In many ways, the juice attachment is more important than the battery device used. The battery device just holds the batteries and adjusts the power output. The juice attachment is what provides the vaper.

The Triade is great but it's a 3 battery mod which makes carrying around a little inconvenient. The Paranormal is a nice 2 battery with the same board but only runs up to 167W (?) as it only has the 2 batteries but far more pocket friendly. You would be very happy with either. I have a bunch of Lost Vape DNA mods including the new Triade and have never been let down by any of them.
First you should decide how much wattage you really need. For a regulated mod and my builds I never go over 35w why would I ever buy a 250w mod. Personally the chinese regulated market lost favor with me. The quality (meaning the board) is like everything else from there, built to last a few days longer than the warranty anymore is a bonus. I went back to unregulated and quit feeding the chinese market. Just another option to consider.
Look you can go pretty "beefy" without spending hundreds of dollars, and it would be my personal advice and well, honestly you should find out some of your preferences before saying money is no object. Money IS object, because if you buy a 1K mod you HATE, you will not be pleased with the outcome.
And best is also totally subjective so if you want "beefier" coming from a very small, MTL vape then you should really try some medium priced mods to see what you like, some different tanks (drop ins and RTAs or RDAs or whatever you want, etc.) to figure out what your preferences actually ARE.
Some folks adore TC and go down the TC trail, some folks are happier with wattage, some folks prefer drop in coils in ALL sorts of resistances, some folks prefer squonking there is just an endless set of options to explore.
You are not going to find your "best" vape at all probably on your first try, so like, make it a less expensive try.
I mean I once saw a pic of a cheap, ego pen style battery encrusted in diamonds and gems and I think the price tag was into the 20Ks and I would not call that a "good vape" for example.
Just... try some stuff. Don't blow out your wallet, and as you zero in on your preferences THAT is the time to splurge.
For example I own two kabuki tanks, and both of them were over $100 by a fair margin.
I love them, but I started with a Nautlius 2, like every other (well many vapers) person before me and I made good and sure that I was a dyed in the wool MTL vaper before I made that purchase. It's also a purchase I do not regret at all, because I waited until the time was right, etc.

Another vote for Lost Vape.
Arctic Dolphin is more expensive but do they use genuine DNA chips? I don't know. I wouldn't buy any mod over 80 bucks without a DNA chip. Then again I use cheap 2 x 18650 mods and mostly avoid TC. Wismec Predator, Smoant Battlestar etc.

I'm itching to start an Atomizer A - Z. I'm beginning to think that the Mods A - Z is only half the story. Although if people are looking for kits, pod systems then it's a go to thread. I just know that researching and writing an a to z of toppers is going to be a much bigger project. And if i start it, i'll feel committed to finishing it. The maintenance is the easy part. Just think, there are a hell of a lot more companies making tanks than there are making mods. Making my head spin thinking about it. Still, it'll keep me busy for a few weeks, but maybe too busy !.

I'm a little worried i'll get ridiculed for posting that link if i do it too often. It may seem like i'm taking short cuts. Instead of providing a recommendation, i'm just lazily posting that link. Although it did take me about 150 solid hours to research and write that list, so i hope that fact may get taken into account.
For me, I've had plenty of mods. I've been using the same mods for over two years, and my now current main mod has been released back in 2014-2015 (Sigeli 100...without the spring loaded pin). For me, mods aren't the issue, it's the atomizers I've been going through for a while. I only use RTA's. I've been using the same Goblin Mini since early 2016. I've been trying atomizers since then, and I'm desperately trying to find a good replacement... 22mm width preferred, height must be minimal, since it will sometimes be put on a Smok guardian 3 pipe. Top fill is a must. One or two coils are fine, but the only thing I keep finding, are single coils and they don't last long. I thought I had a replacement with the smok Spirals, but the screw hole stripped. I have a moonshot on it's way, but I've heard concerns about the press fitting center pin being an issue.. Best is not always equal to "most expensive". Some brands can have great failures and great success. For instance, all of the mods in the eleaf and Joyetech brand are sure workhorses. Now, if you want luxurious materials, look for stabilized wood.
If I were you, I'd go for a DNA from Lost Vape. A DNA 250c mod like the Paranormal is luxury meets practicality.
As for a tank, I love the OBS Engine Nano, Geekvape Zeus (single or dual coil) are great.

Smoant Cylon and a Steamcrave Aromamizer Plus make a nice pair. The mod works well, as mentioned above, about 50$. I paid 60$ for the Aromamizer Plus rta, came with 3 tank size options, 5, 10, and 20 ml tank expansion . Better do a LOT of research before you buy something more expensive. The vape will not be that much better lol.
