Hi y'all,

I've been away for a while, but I'm back again. The reason why I went away is because I started smoking regular cigarettes again. The reason why I started smoking regular cigs again is because I had some difficulty trying to figure out which e-cig might be the right fit for me. I'm an unemployed college student, which means that I'm living on financial aid, and that means I don't have a bunch of money to blow in order to figure this out. I've tried two so far, I'll let you guys know what I liked and disliked about them, and maybe we can go from there.

Smoke 51 was my first e-cig. I liked it because I didn't stress over burning cartos. I also liked it because it was extremely easy to tell when you got a little too much juice in the filter. I didn't like it because the liquid they used gave me an allergic reaction, the battery was an automatic battery, and it didn't produce much vapor or throat hit.

Vapor King by Vapor4Life was my second e-cig. I liked it because it had a manual battery, I liked the throat hit, and it produced a good amount of vapor. I didn't like it because the pre-filled cartos gave me an allergic reaction, I was always stressed about burning the stupid carto, and I never quite mastered filling blank cartos. The whole point of my smoking is to help me relax, and these did not help me relax.

I thought about a juicebox, but found the design to be quite bulky and a deviation from the cigarette form that I have grown quite fond of.

Basically I'm looking for an e-cig with a manual battery, good vapor production, one that I don't have to worry about burning cartos, and one in which refilling isn't a monumental task. Any and all suggestions would be accepted gratefully.

what fits your description is a bloog maxx fusion, or something identical to it. those cartomizers have a bottom coil and the heating element does not touch the filler at all....so it will never give you a burnt taste. the 102mm batteries will last easilily the whole cartomizer (for me, about 4-5 hrs) before it needs re-charging.

these are basically the same thing but batteries are a bit smaller. Signature Series 808 Kits and Accessories (pst, free shipping on these babies)

another favorite is the Riva from libertyflights dot com (and you can click the 20% off button at the top right i think).
thats a very good unit and the battery will las you even longer than those 2 i mentioned above. plug some boge cartomizers (froom here: 15 Boge 510 Carto Deal at Crystal Clear Vaping : Cleanest, Purest Unflavored Nicotine On The Planet ) and you are good for 2 or 3 months. the riva+carto package will run you oh...ruffly $50 shipped to your door. good luck!

Sounds like your still in the cig form factor stage an the main thing that put you off the first time were pre-filled cartomizers....frankly they put alot of people off.

Egos and Rivas provide excellent battery life while not getting to far out side of the cig form factor, more cigarish shaped and you can get boxes of empty cartomizers which can be refilled several times and fill them yourself.

A kit with a couple of boxes of cartos would get you going and not set you back to much. Check Liberty Flights. Boge Cartomizers are dependable and easy to work with. I'd recommend those to start in the 2.0 ohm variety.

Try different flavors in small bottles...some come in variety samplers as well, until you find a flavor of flavors that work for you and I'd also recommend getting a drip tip to sample flavors with so you can weed out the ones you don't like before filling larger amounts into a carto.

I'd suggest picking up a good 3.7 mod from the classifieds... one that takes a 14500 or 18650 batts...
If are patient and affable, one of the awesome folks here will throw something good your way for $40-$70 including some batts and a charger... I have seen some great deals on rough-stacks lately...
get some LR 510's or 306's... and drip or use a cart...
A good member would probably also throw some juice and an atty or two in for you... I would if I had one to part with at the moment.

you'll get some power, longevity and taste... if it all proves to be too intense for you, you can always trade out and go back to a slimmer, less powerful mod...

my 2 cents...

egos/rivas are great too. I still use mine regularly...

You might want to give your smoke 51 another try. If you weren't getting a good TH or vapor it could easily have been due to the quality of juice itself and the nic content (TH) and the VG % of the juice (vapor). A better juice and or higher nic content will give you more of a throat hit. PG juice gives better flavor, while VG produces more vapor. I'm very new to vaping, but I think people go with an 80PG/20VG or a 70PG/30VG mix to keep flavor while still getting decent vapor. Most of my juice is 6 mg nic, which produces really no TH, but I have a few that are 11 mg nic that have decent TH and one at 24 mg nic that I can't even vape because the TH is too strong for me. And that's all on an 808 auto battery with cartos which is similar, although not exactly like the smoke 51 kit you got.

I have the Bloog MaxxFusion, and while I like it, it will give you a burnt taste if you don't keep the carto wet. I know, I've done it. A couple of times. :( If you're new to vaping, as I and the OP am, it's really hard to figure out at first when to top off and you can easily wind up with some burnt cartos.
