I just coiled up the wire and silica I got with the Russian 91%. About four turns around a doubled over piece of silica and a needle. Put it on to lie square, directly over the air hole and about 1-2mm above it. Take great care that the terminal block doesn't rotate; just a slight movement and the two blocks touch and make a dead short. Trim the wick so it reaches the grooves, but not so long that there's much more than that. I'm still on that first wick, although I've dry burned it twice now.
This is probably the one I followed, but I used a needle so I didn't wrap too tightly.
