Currently I've been using a mini protank 2, and overall it has frustrated me. This is mainly due to airflow issues. I was planning on buying the mini aerotank, but I'm thinking that I want to hit the buck and take my vape up to the next level of taste and vapor. I love to taste my juice and get clouds of vapor aswell.

What do I need to do to step up? Would this be a rebuildable dripping atomizer? Taking a look at those units, they are off putting with high price tags. Also, I strongly dislike not having good airflow on my unit, I would like airflow control, or atleast not a tight draw. Is there anything in the vapeworld that will give me better flavor and vape?

Well, if you want to kick caping up a notch, you can call Batman. He can probably help you better with that one. :D
But if you want to kick vaping up a notch, you can get a better tank like the Aerotank or the Nautilus. They are both a lot better when it comes to taste and vapor production. Especially the Nautilus.

I'm not much of a RBA guy, but I did buy a Vortex tank and tried to make my own coils. There is definitely a ton more vapor production, but I found it to be kind of a PITA. Mostly because I'm getting older and it's kind of hard to see things that small and close up. IF I had one of those big magnifying lamps it would probably be better. But I ain't doin that. I still use it from time to time, but I'm pretty much a "unscrew the coil and screw in the new coil" kind of vapor. It's just easier.

The next step up is to move to a rebuildable atomizer of some sort, but I'd suggest a tank instead of a dripper. That's going to be more like your experience with the kanger tanks, but with better flavor and vapor.

The most popular one is the Kayfun Lite Plus (or the clone by EHPro). It has the airflow control you're looking for, and will work great at 1.5-2 ohms on anything you currently use your protank and aerotank on. And it will hold about 3.5ml of juice at a time. It's also one of the easiest rebuildables to work on. I've included a link below to a good building video that will show you how it works.

As far as price, you can get the EHPro clone for about $40, so it's a little more expensive than the tanks you use now, but you save a TON of money in the long run. Instead of buying replacement coils at $10 for a set of 5, you can buy a 100ft roll of wire for about $6 and a box of sterile cotton balls for $3. That initial wire and cotton purchase will last you several months to years, depending on how often you change your coils and wicks. I tend to change my cotton every day or two, and a coil can last 2 or 3 weeks.

If you want to try dripping, go with a cheap one to start and see if you like it. An Igo-W is only $11, and if you have a good vape shop around, they can drill the air holes for you got get the air flow you like. Mine does it for free, but I've heard of some charging a couple of bucks. But I don't think you need a dripper - it sounds like a Kayfun will rock your world, and it's a bit easier to deal with. Just fill up a tank and go instead of drip, take a few puffs, drip some more, etc.

Here's the build video on the Kayfun:

What is your current set up? Just curious... If your not using a variable voltage battery, that could be your next step. If you already have that you might want to move into RBA's/RDA's. Have you ever built your own coils? What about trying out new clerotanks like the Aero or Nautilus? Not too sure exactly what your looking to get out of this....

The Aspire Nautilus is awesome BUT only when you find a good coil for it (few and far between). In my opinion, the Kanger Aerotank Mega is a much better option, it works just as well or better than the Nautilus but the coils don't seem to have problems, my first lasted a good week and I'm on my second one now. Or just get a decent RBA like a Kayfun or Russian (get a clone if you can't afford the original), but you need to learn to build your own coils, pretty easy for most people.

There is a step between clearos and rebuilding if you don't think you want to rebuild. Have you tried a cartotank OP? For a little more then $20 you can get a nice, glass and metal one from IBTanked. I believe that carto tanks provide the best taste you can get unless you get into rebuilding. You insert a primed (filled with juice) cartomizer, like the ones used in cigalikes into the glass tanks, and it's held in place by very snug o-rings. The cheaper carto tanks don't fit around the carto as snug as I'd like, so I tend to stick to IBTanked, Phiniac, or Cirrus Vapes tanks. The snugger the fit, the less likely the carto is to falling out. The carto is stainless steel and has a couple of holes punched in it to allow juice to feed into the filler with each draw. It takes some time to prime the carto, and there's a slight learning curve on how to tell if it's properly filled, but once you get the hang of it, it doesn't take long at all. Once it's in the tank and the tank is filled with juice, cartos last at least twice as long as clearo coils do and they die a nice, slow, death. I found that I wasn't stuck troubleshooting issues as much as I was with clearos. I had plenty of warning as to when a carto was about to die. With a quality tank, there's also less leaking then clearos.

Amen, I bult tube amplifiers and DAC's as a hobby up until a few years ago (some had really tricky SMT soldering) but have aged so quickly haven't even considered an RTA. Before that would have been right up my alley :( !
