So I recently came upon a page talking about the Ego 8 Cryptonite. A few of my friends vape and have finally got me interested in making my first purchase. When I saw the Ego 8 Cryptonite I was interested. The only thing is that my friends have no clue what it would take to use it as theirs seem to be smaller then what the video showed.

Can someone please help me out as I have not recieved a response yet from gotvapes.com yet.

So I guess my main question is...if I was going to make my first purchase what would I need to get if one of my items was the Ego 8 Cryptonite?

Also can anyone recommend an ejuice? I use to smoke menthol smooths. I also like all types of candy. So sweet tastes are a must.

Thanks,

Oridean

I started with a starter kit from v4l and recently got an eGo-T from myfreedomsmokes which I love, i know nothing about the Ego 8 Cryptonite, but as for menthol type flavors, i like peppermint a lot, though i havent tried spearmint, wintergreen or any of the other menthols.

you probably want to start with something more basic and ramp up.

Read this thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...been-vaping-8months-but-had-no-clue-help.html

I think it has all the info that anyone needs to get off to a solid start.

Read the post from mynameisrob, and my reply to it.

Bottom line:

E-power power source - replaceable 3.7V 18650 lithium-ion battery - get a starter kit - $55 or so?
Joyetech eGo-C atomizer assembly - (cone, base, atomizer head) - get at least 2. They're like $7.50 each
Joyetech tanks (made for the Joyetech eGo-T or -C) $1.25 each
Boge 2.0 ohm dual-coil cartomizers just to see what cartos are all about. Maybe $3 each?
Juice

Then start vaping.

You'll be miles ahead of most people were after their first purchase.

You do not want to "start with something more basic". If you get the stuff I listed, you'll be getting something better than the eGo system, which is what I'm vaping on right now, and like very, very much.

Why better?

Replaceable, generic Li battery 2.5 times the capacity of an eGo
Replaceable switch
3.7 volts vs. 3.4

"Also can anyone recommend an Ejuice? I use to smoke menthol smooths. I also like all types of candy. So sweet tastes are a must".

Go to Tasty Vapors and study their website. Learn all about "doublers". They're 2-oz or 4-oz bottles of zero nic flavored juice that you use to adjust the nicotine level of any of their juices. That way you can buy the strongest nic level they offer - 48 mg - and make it any nic level you want, and the doublers are 4 times cheaper than the flavored nic juice.

Sweet? Try their Atomic Cinnacide (Atomic Fireball flavor). I'm vaping that as well right now.
Just get maybe 3 x 1oz. 48 mg juice (80%PG/20%VG) and 3 x 4 oz. of the same flavor of doublers, of whatever flavors you think will float your boat. Why screw around with sample sizes? No flavor is going to be so bad that you won't use it up during your entire vaping career (i.e., the rest of your life).

They ask you if you want sweetener added; just say "yes", and/or get a bottle of sweetener from them. And get 8 x 6ml mixing bottles, and maybe some 15ml as well. They all come with pop-off drippers.

Just my :2c: but I think you'd be very happy with a KGO and some Boge cartos, also som 1.7ohm resurrectors. Bein a noob myself, I don't get the whole atty attraction.. the constant need to drip into them is inconvenient to me.. when you can fill a carto and go for hours. I've never gotten a good hit from an atty but I'm likely doing something wrong. It's a good way to test flavors without filling up a whole carto with a juice you may not like but I have yet to get my two atty's to work properly.. Anyway,, the KGO is an 1100mah battery and it gives great vapor, lasts all day long and is very easy to use.. Hoosier Ecig supply, Virgin Vapors, Dark City Vapors all have them.. find one that comes with cartomizers, not atty and cartridge.. I'm sure if I had started out with atomizers I never would have stuck with it.. and pay attention to mynameisrob.. he is VERY knowledgable!

Since it seems to be using the outside eGo threads, I'd say you'd need an eGo. Or an adapter from whatever you have now to eGo. (It's hard to see exactly what is what on in the videos. They seem to be a sci-fi movie trailer type or 98 year old standing on a ball holding the camera type.)

Also seems that a needle tip bottle is required to fill one.

Otherwise I know nothing about the thing.

all i meant was not get in over your head just starting out. perhaps it came across wrong

my bad :)

i do wish i had started with something like the eGo, rather than a pen style, but hindsight is always 20/20

Sorry, I had only consumed one cup of coffee this morning before I wrote that, and I'm in a hurry - dangerous combo. :) That's why I was a little more direct than usual; again, my apologies. :)

Just to finally give a direct answer to your main question:

What you would "need" to get is any power source that uses the most common thread pattern there is, the 510 standard.

I think Joyetech established it, and it's used on their ... wait for it ... 510 ... and eGo batteries/what I call power sources.

"eGo" has become like "scotch tape" or "kleenex" ... it doesn't refer to just Joyetech products.

(And speaking of eGo, I'm not quite sure why they chose to call that thing the Ego 8, since it can be used on almost anything. I guess they just like the word, but there's already enough confusion in this field).

I ended up getting the E-Power Replaceable Battery kit 18650 with a few eGo 8 Cyptonite cartomizer 2ml - 2.6ohm. Hoping I enjoy it. Now I just have to find a company that either sells or provides a kit to make my own juices. I will probably buy a premade juice first. Then start working on making my own. I need o find a page with recipes.
