I have the ego tank system, and it has been a headache from the start, I switched to carto's a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The ego is a good start system for everything but the ego t tanks.

While I see some have already started suggesting the vv mods, you might want to try one of the kgo or ego with some lr cartos first. While many like the vv and I have nothing against it, you need to find what will work for you.

The 510 DCT cartomizer tank takes any of the cartomizers that are long enough to fit inside the tank. They don't have to be dual coil. Its just a tube that fits around the cartomizer to hold extra liquid. Dual or single coil both work in the Dual coul tank you are buying. A lot of people get confused by this at 1st because they call it a dual coil tank so people who are new to tanks think it has to use dual coil cartomizers but it works exactly the same with the single coil ones. If this doesn't make sense to you just let me know. I know it can all be a little overwhelming at 1st:)

*This forum is too cool. Finally found a forum that isn't an advertisment for some brand e-cig and is actually real people sharing there real experiences. Invaluable. Thanks forum users and mods!*

I start with Green Smoke and I actually like it for the most part. At least, they have kept me off analogs for 5 months now. But, I thought I was paying for an exceptional product, after reading this forum it seems like instead I'm being ripped off and could have a better experience. I like the taste of their 18mg tobacco cartridges enough, better than The Safe Cig (though I've never had "juice" before, so I'm hoping that's even better). I would, however, like more vapor. And longer lasting cartridges.

That said, I've been looking through my [way too many] options. I think a Joye eGo-Tank system would be a good match for me. I'm considering the 1000mah battery and Type B LR atomizers and Type B cartridges (for the most vapor). It seems to put out lots of vapor, uses juice which is refillable, can use the cool pass-through battery, and has a large cartridge so I can vape for longer periods of time before it runs out.

Can anyone confirm this is a good choice? Recommend something better?

I think I read that Type B (or is it "LR") are more likely to leak. Since I'm new to "juice", would it be wise to stick with Type A and non-LR, as that combination may work better?

Also, does Joye make eGo? Are all eGo-t or "tank" systems the same or would the "Joye" eGo-T be different than say the "VZ" eGo-T? Is there some brand that is better than another when it comes to eGo-T?

Can anyone recommend a kit that includes EVERYTHING I need? Including a good juice? I'm interested in a real tobacco juice, I'm not interested in flavors at all. I used to roll my own American Spirit cigarettes (about 3-4 years, ~15-20 a day) so if someone can recommend something like that (the "Green" colored American Spirits bag) I'd appreciate it? If someone could recommend a kit that also includes a good juice, I'd love to know.

I have more questions for sure, but I think answers to these questions will definitely help me get started. Any more advise welcome!

Thanks to everyone!
-Brian

I also started with GreenSmoke and liked it! I now have an eGo-C and love it as my main PV.. I actually do still use my GreenSmoke when my eGo is charging ;)

"The 510 DCT cartomizer tank takes any of the cartomizers that are long enough to fit inside the tank"

Yes, I'm kinda confused about this cartomizer/cartridge/atomizer issue -- the 510 DCT cartomizer tank isn't just a cartomizer, it's just a tank that holds the juice, but comes with a single-coil cartomizer inside it?

Here is my current cart lineup:

From RTDvapor:
-2x *NEW* AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
-1x TrustFire TR-003P4

From Provape:
-1x ProVari™ Variable Voltage V2
-1x DCT Cartomizer Tank - 6.0ml - Large
-1x Battery Box for 18650, 18500, 18350 batteries
-1x ProVari Extended End Cap for 18650 Battery - Silver

So, besides juice, what am I missing?

Thanks to other folks for chiming in… but I'm going to go with the Provari.

I'm a newb here, so far be it from me to question Dana's advice, but I wouldn't want to spend $250 or more on what is arguably the best VV PV (and accessories) out there, and then try to save a couple of bucks on batteries and go through the associated hassle and risk that the Provari shows up before the batteries and charger do. (Reminds me of guys that buy $25,000 motorcycles and then run all over town looking for the cheapest oil to put in them.)

Also, if I'm gonna drop the cash on a Provari, I'm buying the Pila charger. Yes, it's $25 or $30 more than the cheap ones, but if you've got the budget for a Provari, I assume you can afford the upgrade. Buy right and buy once.

Sounds like you understand the tank now:) I would pick a few of the single coil 3 ohm cartos to use in your tank as well as you may not care for the dual coil one that comes inside it and end up wanting a single coil. Also the dual coil that comes with it may be lower resistance than you want for the Provari. If the resistance is to low you will get an error message on the Provari when you go up to higher voltages. This is a safety feature so you wont overheat and pop your carto.

Hi Pappy,
Point taken. I'll go for the Pila.

Dana: the tank description says: "This comes standard with a 3-ohm single coil cartomizer." Not a dual… but that begs the question, sounds I buy a dual cartomizer just for testing purposes? I still don't understand the difference b/w single and duel. Is it easier to pull from a single-coil?

Ahh… okay so that "tank" goes around the cartomizer and seeps more juice into it? Right? And these cartomizers, they die eventually, right? So it's good to have spares?

How about these: ECig Cartomizers: E-Cig 510 Cartomizer, E-Cig Cartomizer from ProVape (I'm hoping to get everything I need from provape now)

Yep, exactly, the tank is a reservoir that adds to the capacity of a carto by feeding anywhere from 3 to 6 ml of juice in addition to what's in your carto. And yes, they will eventually die, sometimes after only a day or two, some will last for 3 or 4 weeks so you do need to have spares. I'm using myfreedomsmokes cartos, available here:

I think those are to short from top to bottom to use in that tank.

If I remember right say a 1.5ohm dual coil carto would have two 3 ohm coils inside it versus one 1.5 ohm coil in a 1.5 ohm single coil. I think that's how it works. The dual coil have one coil at the top and one at the bottom of the carto but the feeder holes are in the bottom part of the carto so from other threads I have read sometimes when using a dual coil carto in a tank the liquid will not reach the top coil leaving it dry and giving a nasty burnt taste.

Should I just do away with the tank altogether? Or at least that tank? Am I correct in thinking any "510" tank will work with the ProVari? Dana, you use the Provari, right? Are you using the same tank I was ordering? If so, what carto are you using inside? If I can't get all from provari.com it's not a big deal. I'd rather have the PERFECT setup and order from multiple sites then anything less than perfect.

Kewl… so I guess you haven't had the same issues the reviewer at the bottom of the page had. That is what worried me… but with your recommendation I'll get it.

Do you smoke "tobacco" flavored juices? Have you tried the Pro-juices on the same site? I was going to get the sampler pack at 18mg (same level I have with Green Smoke) in all three tobacco flavors. If you like these, I'd be interested in which you like (of tobacco flavors).

So, here is my current cart -- am I forgetting anything?:

1x ProVari™ Variable Voltage V2 with Digital Display - Ships in 5-7 Days

2x DCT Cartomizer Tank - 6.0ml - Large

1x Battery Box for 18650, 18500, 18350 batteries

1x ProVari Extended End Cap for 18650 Battery - Silver

1x Pila 4 Stage Charger

2x NEW AW IMR 18650 - 2000 mAh High Drain Battery

1x 3 Bottle Pro-Juice Sample Pack (5 ml each)
[Bottle 1:18 mg (Medium)][Bottle 2:18 mg (Medium)][Bottle 3:18 mg (Medium)][Bottle 1:Tobacco Bold][Bottle 2:Tobacco Mellow][Bottle 3:Tobacco Lite]

2x 510 Replacement DCT cartomizer with hole punched - 3ohm Single Coil

Thats the great thing about this forum Pappy. You can get lots of opinions all together for a broader view:) I wanted to get the Pila originally but they were out of stock everywhere when I needed a charger so I ended up getting the one I have. Now I couldn't live without 4 charging bays.
