Want to try dripping

Hi all,

I'm currently using a Protank on my Provari mini but I would like to try dripping now as I'm hearing favors tend to be muted on the Protank. So for my own comparative purposes, what would you recommend for a dripping setup?

My own personal recommendation?

First before I do that there are a few things you'll need for the stuff I recommend:

- A drip shield (I recommend an empire drip shield from empire mods)
- A 510 to 510 adapter (Needed to use with a drip shield)
- An XL delrim drip tip for 306 atomizers

Now onto what I find to be the better ones, I like 306 LR resistance dripping atomizers. Don't buy a HH.357 to start just to find you don't like em and spend the money for nothing. There are only 2 places I recommend for dripping attys, Empire mods and Avid Vapor. I use Avid Vapor's Cisco Spec 306 Low Resistance (1.5ohm) atomizer. These little atomizers are 7.95 each the one I'm using now I've been using for the past 4 months with no problem and it STILL hasn't given out on me, awesome atomizers!

No dripping atomizer is rebuildable unless it specifically says so, usually clearly labelled as a rebuildable. I add 7 drops or so to a new dripping atty and then add as needed, one thing I like is the Cisco 306s don't have as harsh a dry hit as other dripping attys but you'll want to keep the coil wet regardless. Dripping attys aren't meant to "hold" juice you add a few drops and vape anywhere from 5-7 pulls add another few drops, flavor can't be beat, but it's not a tank.

I just tried dripping yesterday the flavor is alot better and the vape is better too! I can't wait for my mechanical to come im the mail so I can fire it at a lower ohm

Another advantage to dripping is when you mix flavors and start home brewing you can see how it works. That first step saves me from cleaning clearomizers and wasting carts. (I was very new) with my failed experiments. If it passes the drip test then I do micro brews in a 2.8 clearomizer and then in 5ml batches up to the 30ml bottles. Less wasted liquids.
Dripping is a great way for me ito try a new liquid, too. Just don't try the drip and drive, I've never done it but's like trying to text with both hands and your elbows on the wheel.

Been a direct dripper for 3 3/4 years.....Custom HH.357 Cisco Spec Hybrid 510 Atomizer - Avid Vaper
For a Provari buy the HH357 3.0 ohm attys.......Dont worry about the price they are that good

Been dripping since I've first started vaping. I have several rba's; however, all I tend to use are my rda's due to the flavor increase. Once a dripper always a dripper.

Been a dripper for a while too, and don't get me wrong because the 357 is a great atty. It's just that I would never suggest a $22 atty to someone that has never dripped before, and doesn't even know if they will like dripping yet. Learn how to drip, and then go after the nicer atomizers.

Right now I have a 510 atty (that I modified myself) on a mechanical mod, a RDA (that I recoiled myself) on a provari, and another atty on a bottom feeder (reo). Three different ways to get to that "perfect vape", but first I needed to learn what that "perfect vape" was that I wanted, and then I had to learn how to get there ... regardless of what I was using.
Learning to drip, and get the vape that you want, is a process ... not an event.

Something similar to this is a great first step towards dripping and rebuilding wicks. I think. It is a Canadian site but there should be something similar on US sites.

Started with clearies, then to cartos, then to the Protank (nice) and carto tanks (nice), then to dripping attys (really nice) and now, my shameless plug, rebuildables. I am in vaping cloud nine. Not for everyone but when you build a coil and find the sweet spot, wow. So be advised, warned, once you go down this rabbit hole there is no return.

I recommend the IGO-L for a starter, it is large and pretty easy to work with, cheap, and really works well. Here is what I have progressed to, using cotton wick, 28 gauge kanthal, tight wrap (think this is a 11/10 at 1.7 Ohm), running at 4.1 volts:

I guess my only concern with your above recommendation is that after purchasing these things, I will have now surpassed the price of the .357 everyone raves about, no?
