at first i smoked marlboro reds. Then i went to marlboro 100's. For a while i was carrying around a pack of 100's and a pack of menthol 100's. all of a sudden i was exclusively a marlboro menthol full flavor smoker. i did not start smoking because of any particular "flavoring." When said legislation went into effect, menthol and clove smokers alike freaked out (needlessly, as it turns out). I take that back; apparently there has been some clashing between Djarum et al and the new legislation... but they are allowed to market their product as "little cigars," avoiding the ban. Kretek - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's not that menthol or cloves are more addictive; it's just a preference. In fact, I avoided donating many a cigarette to solicitors by replying, "It's a menthol..." All of a sudden they didn't want it. When I ran out of cigarettes, however, I would gladly bum a regular to satisfy the nicotine craving.
I currently vape menthol juice, among other things. The potential ban of another tobacco product only makes me more nervous about the legal status of my current "hobby" --- is it possible that they will ban vaping based on the different flavors that are available? ridiculous...

E-juice flavors are often used as a target of the anti's with their usual "it appeals to children" attack line. Of course most research shows that flavors do not attract children to c-cigs or even regular cigs for that matter, and the anti's always ignore the fact of rampant flavoring in alcoholic beverages (Schnapps, apple flavored Vodka, et al).

They didn't ignore the energy drink malt beverages.

I'm sorry, but taxing one segment to give it to the poor children is ridiculous. I stopped smoking cigars because they slapped on that stupid s-chip tax to help the kids. How about taxing happy meals and junk then using that money to subsidize healthy food?

Because you'd have the junk food junkies up in arms and there are a lot more of them than smokers. They go after smokers because they are a smaller portion of the popular vote and the chances of them forming an alliance that would shift an election is much smaller. Plus, let's face it, they've been shoving it to the smokers so long that they are used to it. It's always good to have a minority that will never get legislative protection.

That's because we have been too quiet/complacente for too long. We need to stop shutting uo and putting up and start standing up and speaking up for ourselveves!

Vaping makes it a lot easier to stand up and fight for something. With smoking we all knew we were wrong to expose ourselves and others to smoke and chemicals so we really didn't have a leg to stand on. With vaping we do and they don't have a chance now that word is out about e-cigs!! :D
