At the federal level, the battle might be over. But at the state level, it’s not.

Here's part of one of my comments:

The electronic cigarette serves as a low-risk substitute for smoking. All clinical trials to date show that when smokers switch to an e-cigarette, their health improves. In one study, shortness of breath was substantially reduced from 20 to 4% already by week-2. Currently prices of tobacco cigarettes and convenience store brands of e-cigarettes are running neck and neck. But if your goal is to continue watching 400,000 plus people die of smoking-related diseases, then by all means do everything in your power to make the low-risk version cost much more than the deadly version.

I haven't read past the first paragraph yet, I'm laughing so hard at the visual idioticassy of it all.
"The decades-long battle between big tobacco companies and the health-care community has evolved from a debate over stinky bars and second-hand smoke to a debate over vapor flavored like Fruit Loops and gummy bears."

Speaking of idiotic, how do you spell idioticassy? It's not a word? It should be.

My own comment:

Based on my own experience as an ex-smoker and now exclusively a "vaper" (with encouragement from my doctor), I think ex-smokers like to get away from tobacco flavors, which they associate with (harmful) smoking, and gravitate toward other flavors, including fruits and candies and mints. These flavors are much more interesting and satisfying (and can be enjoyed with or without nicotine).

Here's part of one of my comments:

That is so accurate, unfortunately. I am running into more and more people who have gone to convenience stores, picked up cigalikes, tried them and returned to smoking. I guess I should buy a throw away to see how they compare to the Blus of over 4 years ago, but I never would have quit had I used those exclusively. It took ve a few days to see the benefit and go to a manual battery and months to go to a mod. I spent as much those first six months experimenting as I would have spent smoking and about two months of smoking over the last 3 years and 8 months.

Any increase of the introductory equipment prices could have a devastating impact on the conversion of people away from smoking.

Elaine, I love to read your comments. Taking no prisoners, suffering no fools, and just being an all around pain in the ANTZ's a**es!

I'm finding that to be a real pain in the ANTZ a** all you have to do is tell the truth and leave a link to back it up.
