The only non-smoking areas I've smoked in is my own home, and others houses who know what I am doing. I'm not into making a scene to prove a point. Honestly, if I'm so addicted to nicotine that I can't go for an hour or two without vaping, I've got a bigger problem than when I smoked analogs.

Vaping is way less damaging than smoking cigarettes.
Your health problem has actually diminished considerably. One doctor claims nearly 1/100th as much.
Raise your nicotine level a bit if you think you're vaping too much. Regardless, you should notice your lungs becoming clearer.

I love vaping so I've lowered it from 24mg when I started to between 6 and 12mg now. I can see myself vaping 0 nicotine on occasion very soon.

Maybe we should print up some of these door decals http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/casaa/63314-door-decal-vaping-2.html#post1370094, ask the manager if it's ok to vape and then give them a decal to put up :) Also CASAA is going to have business cards that can be past out which may help http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/casaa/90938-ecf-casaa-business-cards.html#post1387318
Exactly, I think that the best thing is information. Having clear warnings about what can or can't be used is essential not to get in unconfortable situations. The problem is that the delicate issue about bans generates instability and raises the fear in those who have no idea about e-cigarettes and don't even go and check themselves what they are. In such a scenario, I think the world must first get properly informed about PVs, then there could be a chance of a radical change.

One thing to remember that is usually forgotten when this happens is that not everyone that uses a PV is a member of ECF. We've even had some people here on the forum who have never smoked in their life asking about vaping. Even zero nic, why would you open yourself for an addiction you don't have? These people that argue about how they should be able to use these when smoking is prohibited are usually rogue vapers with no notion of bans, etiquette, or how their actions effect others.:2c:

Since so many of us are ex-smokers, we know all too well about the problems that we faced when we wanted to smoke. If someone starts raising a stink about his "right" to vape, pretty soon we will be right back where we were when we were smokers. It is very simple to be courteous. If I wish to vape in an area where smokers are not welcome, I will ask. If I get no for an answer, I do not vape. It costs us nothing to be courteous, but it does cost us all a lot when someone wants to defend his "rights" and upsets those around him.

Exactly. It's also just common courtesy. You're sharing places like restaraunts and movie theaters. I don't shout into my cell phone in a quiet restaraunt through a meal either.

Dont even get me started about those mall vendors who are apparently selling e-cigs and juice to minors. They are a huge problem for us! We should form an angry mob and go put them out of business.

We have a kiosk at the outlet mall. Some of these guys really give off a bad vibe that I think can hurt vaping. Even though they still make sales hand over fist, I see the looks of non-smokers/vapers as they walk by.

Most of these guys look like punks and sit there and blow billows of smoke in peoples faces as they walk by. I guess its to "prove" that the smoke doesn't stink, but it's still damned discourteous.

I almost want to stand there an apologize to them on behalf of courteous vapers everywhere.

Many excellent points.

I'd like to add one.

We all, as a community, need to keep pressure on the vendors as well. Do NOT purchase from ANY vendor that advertises "smoke anywhere, 100% legal", and make sure you tell the vendor why you will not shop there.

They are a big part of the problem. I've been asked several times already, "Hey are those the cigs that you can smoke anywhere you want and no one can stop you?" Followed by a plethora of other ill informed nonsense.

Umm, no, no they are not.......First they are not 'smoked', etc etc

It was precisely this attitude of some smokers that helped, and still help, push all the anti-smoking policies and were instrumental in swaying opinion, helping to take away private enterprises right to decide on their own policy. No smoking in bars, by law? Soon to be followed by no smoking outside your home. Which leads to....

Easy rules, if even one other person is around you, be polite, ask, don't assume you have some 'right', to do as you please.

uurrgghh, I always get too fired up on this issue, and I've been smoking since the days you could give the bank teller a light, bum a smoke from a stewardass, tap you ashes in the little chair ashtray at the movie theatre. Some smokers just never learn.

<sigh>

Actually I would say the big mistake was when he started vaping without asking the manager about it first.
Exactly.

I've never vaped anywhere without asking first.
Sometimes I get a "yes" answer and sometimes I get a "no" answer.

Yesterday I vaped at a baseball game.
And the usher had to go ask his boss whether or not it was cool.

I was actually shocked to get the answer back that it was.
