I gather much of the day, still haven't found anything that explains what happened, but then again, haven't looked. Didn't go into crisis mode and start writing letters to Congress, that would only happen after around 18 hours or so. Given that I am in IT...it's kind of like meh, something got screwed up, happens.

Since I don't see any major restructuring...my guess is the site was down for PM (periodic maintenance)....just routine IT "housekeeping"!!
Anything that runs 24/7/365 needs SOME downtime.....
