Wow, what a pain in the ...... I put on the new atty, same old story. Except I could hear a strong sizzle, I guess thats cuz the atty is new. Still hardly no vapor or TH...

I got this kit from e smokey treats. Just emailed him and he told me to send everything back so he can look at it and replace bad parts. So I'll be without a PV for over a week!!

I might just forget about this whole thing, waaaaaay more trouble than its worth IMO.

...., do you carry your mod with you though? I want to get one for the house, but I dont see myself carrying a Prodigy with me everywhere I go??

You said this is a good thing? What did you mean?

I'd like to borrow his, but were only gonna have 2 batteries between us if we go that route, and that might be a pain.....

There are SO many variables that can cause poor vapour, I can't list them all, but most of them have been discussed in this thread. The only thing I might add is - try a different juice. Some produce more vapour than others and they don't even have to be different brands. For instance, I just got some juice from a supplier and I'm getting great vapour from some of the juices from said supplier and practically 0 from others from same supplier. Go figure.

In my experience an atty really hot really quick is very flooded. Boiling a pool if liquid that transfers heat to the tube very quickly. If you unscrew the atty is there liquid all over the threads?
If so, wipe out all the liquid in the battery connector and threads on the atomizer. Blow out the atomizer a little. Don't pop your head doing it. Just get the excess out of there, not all of it. Vape it without adding more liquid. See how it goes. Your dropper might be giving you huge drops and maybe a single drop every 3, 4 or 5 drags is what you need. Unless the atomizer is bone dry, don't bother adding drops before attaching a full cart. Also, until you get particularly used to it, don't try to fill the cart 100%.

Well, now this new atomizer is really blowing smoke! I just dont get this at all......

I did put in some dark ... liquid from Ms T, caramel coffee flavor, might that have screwed up my atty?? I mean 10 days for an atty is rediculous, I dont wanna buy an atty every 10 days.

So I guess I should try cleaning out the original atty and see what happens, and put in an order for some more atty's. I may just get a starter kit from cignot.com . This ecig sure isnt saving me any money, I hope it will in the long run though :)

Uber- Im gonna try that right now and see what happens, hopefully that will solve the other atty's prob but I doubt it.

Does that protege fit nicely in your pocket ....? How bout with atty and cartridge connected? Does it produce more vapor and TH, or is it just a battery life thing?

Thanks for the help guys.

Honestly, I would hold off on the mod for now. I really don't want to steer you in any direction other then correcting the problem you have now.

Use the atty that works for now, but you need to clean the other one out. Most times a good cleaning is all it needs.
Follow whatever method your comfortable with. I boil mine as I stated.

Stick with it, it really does get easier.

Uber, that definitely helped. I blew it out and smoked it "dry" (didnt add any more juice) It didnt produce any vapor, I added a drop still no vapor, another drop some vapor some flavor, added a third, and now were in business. We will see how long this lasts though...

After I burn all this Im gonna put a cart on and not drip to see what happens. My other atty is a TH bomb, still not as much vapor as my dads, but enough that Im happy with it.

Why not fill the carts 100% till im used to it? Flooding issue?

Right. Starting out people have a tendency to fill the cart till liquid is pooled up on top and put a few drops on the atty which will usually lead to flooding, low vapor, etc. Then to remedy the situation they pull the cart off and add another drop or two. Then it's blow out and repeat.

I've been there. I've been vaping for about 7 weeks now and only in the last two have I really gotten everything nailed. I never flood anymore. Threads stay clean and dry. I can taste when it's time to refil the cart. I don't make a mess when refilling.. I'm finally a happy vaper. It's unfortunate, but it does take time.

It's likely that your dad will run into the same problems if he's just started as well. He's just had it easy thus far. :)

Glad you got it working, it is a bit of a learning curve but I think it is worth it. As far as not worth it for the money spent, you might want to keep tabs for awhile and revisit that issue. The cheapest cigs where I live are around 40.00 carton (on the res, no tax) and packs at the store are 6.50 to 8.00 not including tax. At those prices, I figure I could afford a new atty per day and still be even. Not that you will need a new atty every day, just an example. I decided I was ok with it even if I had to buy a new kit every month, 35.00 is way cheaper than almost 200.00 for cigs.

Hang in there, it does get easier.

Thanks for the pics ....! Those are cool, what atty do you have on the protege? and the V2? Silver tip on the V2? Cool.....

That protege looks like it may fit in the pocket. Is vapor and TH pretty much the same as a regular 510? Just longer batt life?

I have the 510 on both, the silver tip is for dripping (I am in my learning curve with 5 volts) comes from Super T Manufacturing.

Yeah you will get a true 3.7 volts from the Protege, your getting 3.1 ish with yours. So your vapor will be warmer (TH) and the Vapor will most likely increase as well depending on the juice. The best Vapor juice I have found is from NHaler

As for the mods, in most cases a mod even at 3.7v will provide a better vape then the standard 510 batteries. The standard 510 batteries have a documented voltage drop under load. They're supposed to be 3.7v but are generally seen to run around 3.1v under load. The mods don't do this and stay fairly consistent at 3.7v give or take ~.4v based on the carge level of the battery.

If you're comfortable with a drill and a soldering iron I'd suggest the DIY nicostick. It's like $7 in parts and $15 for two 14500 batteries + a charger. Gives a pretty compact and durable 3.7v mod. Also a good platform if you ever want a 5v mod. If not so comfortable building your own, I've seen someone selling them in the classifieds for $27 and the Bartleby (I may have misspelled that) looks like a swa.nky box for $50. It's the same size but has integrated usb charging and status LEDs.

Anyhow, good luck! Hope you get through the frustration period soon.

Uber, yep I think it was a flooding issue, and yea, before your wrote that post about filling the carts, I had just fluval'd a cart and over filled it :) Oh well, I'll figure this out, I just wanna get some consistent TH and vapor! Thats not asking too much is it! :)

DIY nicostick? Where can I get some more info on that? I have both a drill and a soldering iron so Im game! And since im low on money now (off work for a week, pulled my back, and IM only 27 :)) it would be perfect!

.... thanks for that great info, a steady 3.7 would be nice indeed, im sure the 510 batt goes well below 3.1 as the battery drains.....

And yea, Im keeping tabs on money spent, I hope to break even soon. Cigs here are 4.35 a pack for Pall Mall, which most switched to after the tax hike. Camels are like 5.25.... I figured I spent 6-6.50 a day smoking analogs, so we will see.

I just ordered some juice to hold me over for a bit, now I need another starter kit and I think Im done spending for a while! Unless I get a mod, but only one! I just need something to use at the house after work.

MadVapes has a great howto on their site for a 2x AA size box. There's other howtos on their site as well for different configurations and voltages. http://www.madvapes.com/HowTo/510boxmod.html
They also sell the parts. They're usually out of stock on the batteries tho. I got my batteries and charger from The Custom Saber Shop
