Ben, I question your thinking that you can only stay open for x amount of orders that can be processed in that day. I run a business and have never shut my website down. I've even been 5-6 weeks backed up on orders and clearly stated so. I for one would rather have my order in to you and know that it will eventually get out the door than have to sit everyday stalking your website at 8am hoping to get and order in before you reach your order limit and shut down. That's frustrating!!! Seriously though I will wait as long as needed after placing my order I just want to know my order is in the system. It would also make the week long discount work much better.

Monday morning should be very interesting.......

It really will be and I hope everyone understands this is as much a test of the new system as it is a re-opening. After we meet the backlogged demand the traffic and system stress likely won't put any part of the website to the test... but right as we open? Definitely a good time to stress test it and see what it can do "under load".

Question away, you have your personal experiences and I have mine. I've used a back-log system before and it didn't work. With this method we are able to get in front of the orders day-to-day quicker than we can if we allow them to pile-up. I won't go any more into it as the story would be anecdotal and dismissible.

You have your own mental image of how we do and/or should operate and I'm near positive little I say will change that picture.

As for the discount argument, you are correct, if the assumption is that we operate at normal pricing under normal operation. We don't. Most of our up-time is with discounted prices. If I recall correctly, the last count was 5 days at regular price over the interim of 3 months. Plus our prices are really good. Granted, I don't shove loss-leaders down customers throats or try to funnel them into a pricey purchase. We do discount and incentivise in more overt ways like discounts, charity opt-ins, sensible purchase practices, freebies, personalization, and a few others.

After reading the rest of the recent posts, I will add: I'll see about the discount extension. The idea was to keep it up as long as necessary, however, that time frame gives no definite end-point and is open to personal interpretation. So I announced "a week" with the understanding I have the ability to keep it going until we have met demand and return to a normal flow of orders.

Here is the bleak truth. I'm told it's crappy I close early, when I do. I'm told it's crappy when I accept back orders. Any thing I do that does not mirror 24/7 operations with next day expedited shipping is considered an affront to someone's sensibilities.

I just want to sling juice. I'm a semi-intelligent monkey and can devise the best methods to make this happen. However, my geniality is wearing thin as I continually defend my business practices.

I understand we are closed and how this effect YOU the customer. I was a customer prior to being an juice-slinger and can empathize with many of the common issues. With that in mind, we've had our life and livelihood shut down due to an intrusive act. We've spent thousands of dollars and many hours correcting the issue. We've moved our offices to larger facilities during this time and have continued to order stock regardless of downtime to fill the new space. I only ask for a reciprocal amount of empathy. I have "chiefs" telling me how things should be run and no real clue of our day-to-day obstacles.

I have a deep affinity for my customers, fervent almost, but in this... please stop stirring my kool-aid, this isn't Jonestown.

You know, Ben, the simplest solution would be to PM me the recipe.

I'm the biggest complainer in here and while I disagree with some of what you do, I actually support you closing down once capacity is reached. I may not get my order in the day I sit down and try, but I know that when I do get it in, it'll be at my mailbox in two or three days. That beats a month by a long shot. You could put your order in on the 27th day and still stand a better chance than with backlogging

Oh my... I do not like to see anyone give you good people any kind of trouble. I currently am not a customer. But respect what ya all do, and I do shop at another vendor that cares for us the way you do, and I have seen them go through this as well. It is just wrong !!

Respect people...respect !! I know it is very hard to be without, I live in the realm of "without" ;) Just respect what Porphy is doing,be patient and everything will be fine !!

I wish you well Porphy and two big thumbs up !!

Sorry Ben, I didn't mean to upset you dude. Just jonesing for some BB and want to make sure I get some. You have every right to run your business the way you want. Didn't mean to tell you otherwise, just trying to help. Thanks

You're not alone in that line of thought though. I just hope my explanation gives some insight to my viewpoint. I understand your drive to find a solution, I live in that frame of mind each day (in regards to the website) I won't fault anyone for being a normal human with normal concerns and worries, except myself... (I don't think I'll ever be able to stop being critical of myself)

You know, with all of those millions of dollars you've procured from us these past few years, don't you think it's time to buy a small island, retire, and pass the flame on, so to speak?

:p

LOL, if that's how "our side" is seen it's no wonder people are ....... LOL. Seriously Levi, you got a good chuckle on that one. I'll never have "millions" to my name. I don't know if I ever told you specifically but I've said it before, Christy and I know what our lifestyle is and it's "humble" by most standards. We don't require much to be happy. Any profit I make beyond that lifestyle and a small bit of savings is redirected into employing more people or expanding the business (so that we can then employ more people)

If we ever find ourselves at a point where we can give altruistically we do that as well. It is hard to get grips on, but money collecting isn't a motivation to us. However, wielding money like a hammer to help people is ridiculously rewarding in ways money collecting never will. (Note: I never call it "wealth". "Wealth" is measured in more ways than financial.) Edit: Grammar.

I was just being facetious, because I read a lot of posts stating how you guys purposely close the site down quickly, not because it is as you say (to maintain order limitation in order to get orders out faster), rather, in order to build up the desire for your juices (unhealthy business). :)

Honestly, I hope that you make enough to retire on one day. You've earned it, my friend.

I've never tried Boba's Bounty but ever since I've heard of it I wanted to try it and to my luck the website was down. I just want to say that I support your decision in closing down the website. It was the most wise thing to do, IMO. I loved what you said, "Christy and I know what our lifestyle is and it's "humble" by most standards. We don't require much to be happy. Anything profit I make beyond that lifestyle and a small bit of savings is redirected into employing more people or expanding the business (so that we can employ more people)." So with you saying something like that, even though I haven't purchased anything from you(yet), I say thank you to you and Christy. God bless you two.

Also, when your website is up and running again, is there the option to purchase Boba's Bounty 0mg Nicotine?

Thanks
