Are you kidding me?!!! Let's see, regular cigs are so safe and they are still sold. Chantix has certainly NOT been proven safe and it's still sold. The list goes on and on. Shaking my head.

They tagged on to the Lautenberg FDA request that's being discussed in a lot of threads in the News and Campaigning sections, like this one:

It's funny... I just had a flashback to the time I brought home my first A in the seventh grade and my dad told me "Good try, but where's the A+?"
This quote is interesting from the good doctor as it is further proof that some of the health industry is not concerned about smoking. They simply want to put an end to the use of nicotine.
Yep, it's more about demonizing nicotine and it's users than health or harm reduction. But you know at least as long as the "holier than thou" crowd have nicotine users to discriminate against and vilify they are more likely to leave the fat kids alone (or whoever they would turn their sanctimonious attention to.) Some people just have to have a victim to rail against in support of their own perceived superiority.

I'm pretty positive that this country has gone to hell (not in a basket) but in a front end loader I've been watching this product and I still believe it is the best alternative to smoking if someone WANTS TO CUT DOWN OR QUIT. I am the former Winston Man and I will go down fighting on this one. I've offered my self as the test guinea pig or lab rat to test this product and so far, no takers. I can't even get the press to give a rats ... about a product that will enhance the quality of peoples lives. If anyone wants to take me up on my offer at the FDA, give a shout or email me. this product has to be made available to anyone who WANTS IT....end of story and I will accept nothing less.

I just want to say that I ended up in the hospital after I used Chantix. I had two doctors who did not even pay attention to any of my medical history, who did not understand the 166+ side effects listed by Chantix and who just threw a box of pills at me calling it a "wonder drug". I am a 28 year old female and what happened after 3 days of using Chantix was this: My arm went completely numb and I had chest pains.

hello everyone, I'm normally not a negative person. Lately my attitude has changed, especially the way our government and so-called organizations that are supposed to be working and watching out for all of our health and interests. I would guarantee you, if manufacturers of E-cigs would tell these organizations that are against the E-cig because of the lack of research, that they would contribute 10% of all proceeds to them, they would do a complete turnaround and probably advertise the product. And the government namely the FDA would then back off of their stand, due to the fact of the amount of money they receive from these organizations. So you see, it isn't human health they had concerns about. It's how much money they could make. if it was a matter of human health concerns they would have already banned cigarettes and other nicotine products. At this point in time they gain nothing from E-cigs and gain to lose a lot of revenue from the products they do support. but I assure you, in time they will find a way to make money for themselves as result E-cigs. That's free enterprise at work sorry just needed to vent off some steam.

I personally am also sick and tired of big brother/big corporate influence telling me what I can do and what I can't. Our healthcare methods are in shambles and a big part of it is tobacco products which are readily available. We had found an alternative to tobacco which is actually working for many including myself and the government puts a ban on it. Makes a lot of sence doesen't it. Many of us have done our homework on e-cigs and have made the decision to use them. In my opinion, END OF STORY.
