I agree with GaMntGirl, that yogurt oatmeal looks to die for, Tina! They are all copied for this weekend. I don't know if I have any jars, I may have to put them in plastic containers, but they will be made this weekend because I have every single ingredient and HATE OATMEAL. But it's so good for you I always have it on hand!!! Great recipes!

I have grilled Portobello Mushrooms and then stuffed them with spinach and mozzarella OMG! DELICIOUS!!! I froze the extras and ate them instead of steak for months! I don't know if I can squeeze any in this weekend, but that is a really good reminder!

05/31 Entry #2 . . .

She's an old lady dog owned by an old lady - we are both creaky, cranky, and apt to need a bit of special treatment now and then =]

This is what you should imagine...

Lisa exiting her apartment with a stroller fitted with drinks, chewies, a blanket, rain guard, mace, and snacks. Emmy is leashed and placed in the stroller. Lisa walks away from the nasty grass with stickers that Emmy doesn't like and heads to the street that is lined with dewy moist carpet grass, swaying gently in the breeze. Emmy springs from her reclining pose when she scents just the right spot needing further investigation. Lisa follows behind Emmy as she strolls through freshly cut grass, investigates the scratch marks under a line of cedars, and trees a squirrel in a towering oak. Once Emmy has deposited her quota, Lisa offers her water to refill her piddle ration in the event that a new scent catches Emmy's attention. Lisa then places Emmy back in her stroller and they both return to the apartment thoroughly relaxed and pleased with their outing =]

Ha! Yeah, that's about it, Uncle LOL! An old broad pushing an old hound because carrying her is too hard on the arthritic hands LOL

Wifey is having a bad day so I must stay home with her so I'll be on and off the thread all day. Doesn't help pay the bills though.

I hope she's feeling better, jpf880! Good weekend to you both.

@ akaTina. That oatmeal sounds good will have to make some :)

The oatmeal is really good and easy to customize. I've made it in both plastic and glass with no issues. The jars look cute and all, but turns out they're hard to stir everything in because the opening is so narrow. A short, squat plastic container would work fine.

My favorite variation of it so far is made with walnuts, raisins, and using a container of apple cinnamon yogurt. SOOOOO GOOOOD.

So, I just hear on the radio that we are moving into a heat wave with temps running triple digits for the next few days... Ummm, not sure where the radio weather guy is located, but we're already there!

As to ring around the collar, I use Octagon soap - takes care of it about 80% of the time. Today, I was trying something new on sweat stains and decided to give it a try on some old RATC stains:

1 part Dawn Original dish soap
2 parts hydrogen peroxide
and some baking soda to make a thin slurry.

Apply to stain and scrub in with natural bristle brush.

I will report on results tomorrow, as I will let everything "marinate" overnight in plastic bags.

Have a good evening, everyone!

Well, I got delayed and the clothes sat an extra day. Washed them this morning, and the sweat stains are gone! These were old, dryer set stains that resisted Octagon and Oxyclean. However, I had several shirts with RATC that resisted my Octagon treatment, so I have some more work to do - hope the new Dawn/peroxide treatment works. Otherwise, I will have to get nuclear and bust out the Extreme Simple Green; I try to save it as a last resort because it's kinda pricey.
