Good to see you back again Sherm =]

I have to get this guide about this new position I have applied for figured out, so I'll be TRYING to do that if psycho will stop YACKING!!! Hard to concentrate on this project and pay attention to someone ranting/rambling :p

Went to catch a stealth vape =] I have a cinnamon mix in a polypro tank that has turned a bit perfume-like :/ I am not partial to a perfume vape and wish it were straight cinnamon... this will be corrected as soon as I get home in 6 hours :p

3. 6/18 - Thanks for the bump. Goodnight to those of you that are already out. I should get to sleep soon if I can, the insects are making a crazy racket tonight. I can't stand earplugs when trying to sleep, unfortunately.

I forgot to answer Factor52's question regarding a clear coat. I'm hoping I don't have to. I'm going to use it as is and wait until the finish wears away, if it does. I can always polish it again, it's very little trouble compared to taking an RBA apart and washing and boiling it repeatedly afterward. I'm considering that project 100% complete, now I can get on with the next one when I have time. :)

Rest easy everyone =] Long, hot summer days are here, so you better get some rest while it is cooler at night :/ By 9AM it is HOT... too hot to be walking all over the place with my girl, Emmy. Even she's started wanting to stick closer to the apartment instead of walking 10-12 blocks in the blazing sun.

I just found out that I'll have to waste a vacation day on July 3rd since the circus closes early BUT I'll be off from July 3rd and return to work on Sunday, July the 7th at 11PM. FOUR DAY WEEKEND! Whoop! And the pressure cooker/smoker should arrive with my hickory wood chips tomorrow =] So, I am thinking I need to get a brisket for that weekend =] Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I am already planning on smoking some chicken this week or weekend, as well.

Chic! Do you have any specific hints or instructions? I am buying used, so I do not even know if there ARE instructions included... http://emsonsmoker.com/content/emson-pressure-smoker

Send me some links if you have any good ones =] Here are my online instructions:

Is it like yours?? Any tips?

4. 6/18 - I'm doing what I can to give Uncle some morning reading, but I'm calling this my last post for the "night".

I put 4 pounds of pork in a marinade tonight. I was pre-cut fajita style, and came pre-seasoned but I think I fixed that. I'm planning on slow cooking it in a crockpot all day tomorrow. Hopefully it will be falling apart by dinnertime. It was pretty cheap so I don't mind a failed experiment if it doesn't work out.

I baked 4 dozen cookies tonight, but after receiving no thanks from the last batches I gave out to my local friends, I think I'll keep these for myself. Like many other poor human behavior traits I encounter, I would normally blame the parents. It's too bad I know these people's parents and they were raised better than that. Anyone can get caught up in their own world and forget when and how to act like decent people. That's a poor excuse for bad manners. So be it, I'm the cookie Nazi- no cookies for them! (That's a Seinfeld reference if you don't get it.)

Time to hit the cushy rectangle in the designated room. Goodnight folks, see you the other side. The sandman awaits.

Rest easy, Schnarph =] Tomorrow is another day...

People kind of funny at times and I see it as a form of elitism. You have people that ask for carp regularly, borrow from you regularly, expect to have all of their requests met, but don't do anything in return... If I should tell someone that they CAN'T 'borrow' my phone or no I WON'T 'lend' them cigarettes or gas or money, then they act like you one STARK RAVING LUNATIC =] You see that I put quotes around 'lend' and 'borrow', right? That means they call it lending or borrowing, but in reality nothing will ever be returned or repaid LOL Saying no lets lose a string of aggression from these types of people that goes along with their DISBELIEF that you had the gall to deny their wishes =]

Haha! In the old days, this type of behavior would call for a very different reaction from me =] These days I just avoid them all.

To make up for these noodleheads,

SCHNARPH, You are a magnificent cook, baker, and mech/sweets maker! Don't waste your time and effort on those who do not appreciate your efforts. If they don't PAY you in some WAY, cut them loose.

And call on me instead, I'll transfer cash to pay for shipping costs and ingredients on ANYTHING you decide to cook :p Afterall, I have this sexy, matronly figure to maintain

2- Dry itchy eyes, tired but just a couple of hours left. I have a Dr's Appt this afternoon to get my acupuncture done, that will help with the back/neck pain. Although I am proud to be a soldier, I will be very very glad when I am done with it.

How are you feeling your first night back? Have caffeine at ready? Staying alert? You're not nodding off and drooling on your uniform/suit are you? LMAO!! I was the first few nights back :X

Congrats on the cooker/smoker. It looks to be the same as mine, just by a different name, even the instructions are almost the same. I suggest experiment with cheaper meats until you get used to it. Whole Chicken(I've made 2 in the past week, makes great smoked chicken soup too), pieces, & wings are great and easy. Ribs are usually on sale someplace. Experiment on how many chips to use according to your taste for smokiness. I usually cold smoke my meats for 5-10 minutes then add more chips and pressure/smoke them if I want real smoky flavor. But they are plenty smokey without cold smoking.Try cold smoking steaks or chicken pieces 10-15 mins before putting them on the grill. I like cold smoking a lot. Definetly pick up a ball of good Mozzarella  cut it in 3-4 thick slices and cold smoke it,mmmmm. Smoked hard boiled eggs are good too. Ugly, but good. You are going to love smoked baked potatoes:drool:. Yes, smoked salmon is good too and fast. I use Hickory too. It's good for everything and at Walmart a big bag is around $2. I haven't done it yet but I would like to get a 2lb hunk of pork belly and try to make smoked bacon:drool:. I haven't steamed anything in there but you can if ya want. Have fun I'm sure we'll be hearing about your adventures. Do cheese first, it only takes 10 mins and no clean up. Throw your roast in there. mmmmmm. great sandwich.

Sorry I got this post a little wet but I couldn't help drooling as I wrote.

Well, one day on nights in a bit of pain before you get 'stuck' to relieve you of pain isn't so bad... better than forgetting to schedule and having to wait weeks or months, Hon. Yeah, you've had a rough run, Sky... I can't imagine what you're going to be dealing with after a certain age... I have been a pretty lazy cuss my entire life, so minimal wearing of my bones, joints, and muscles... I don't have much pain at all except in my hands and in my knees/ankle from old injuries and my extra weight. Imagining what your para-trooping and combat azz is going to deal with in the future is enough to make me shed a tear for you now :'( My Grandad warned me about taking care of your body the 3rd time I broke my ankle... it kind of scared me =] Hang in there, Lov and find out what helps now!

Comparing the instructions and reviews it looks like 2-3 wood chips is more than enough. I may go with 2 because overly smoked meat is hell on a system.

Smoked soup, potatoes, cheese, and eggs will be new to me... I'll be sure to get your input before I go there =] Cheap meat is NEVER an issue with me, maybe 1-2x a year calls for paying regular price or a higher price for meats, Christmas and perhaps a BDay or anniversary. Chic, I am sooooooooooo cheap I reuse chicken broth from a roasted chicken and store bacon grease in the refrigerator to flavor different foods. Cheap, frugal, or just more aware of what I am wasting - whatever you want to call it, all recipes I make will be with chap meat LOL ;]~

2lb hunk of pork belly and try to make smoked bacon Uhhhhhhhhhh, yeah... you and I going to have to plan this enterprise out... I only have the 5 quart smoker, but you and I, my Italian friend are going to do this pork belly together ;]

I am going to thaw some chicken quarters, perhaps some of that Basa catfish that has no flavor at all, maybe some smoked shrimp with a pasta and white sauce? I don't know what I'll do, but the chicken is 100% on the menu.

Tell me what you do with the smoked cheese? You are Italian, I am Mexi-Czech... I don't know nuthin 'bout no smoked cheese!!! It just sounds 'foreign' to my sensibilities! LMAO! I am thinking I have had it at a luncheon... on a tray of meats, veggies, smoked cheese. What kind of rib-sticking MEALS use smoked cheese? I have a mild cheddar and a sharp cheddar in the refrigerator now... I may see what this 'smoked cheese' is like with some mac & cheese :/

I have never browned anything or steamed rice/vegetables in a pressure cooker, but I intend to start doing both now that I have two to cook with. You keep up with me and give me pointers! <3

Smoked cheese for sandwiches. When you smoke a 4lb chicken the drippings are smoked drippings, add smoked chicken carcass, & veggie you get smoked soup. Smoked eggs were a suprise. Potatoes whole take a while but are great. Cut in wedges they'll take as long as your leg quarters, throw some in with them. Other veggies are good smoked too. Carrots, peppers and corn on the cob. mmmmm. Take a big onion and cut it like a rose and smoke it. Fantastic. Try smoked pork or beef, with smoked mozzarella & smoked onion sandwich.   There I go again, sorry

3- Thanks Lisa, ya growing up no one, even my poor mother expected me to make it to my mid 20's... I have, make that had, a taste for the more extreme things in life growing up, and up to my early 30's, but then the body started to feel the toll from all of that.
I still have that urge to get the heart pumping, but model aircraft zooming by at 100+ MPH 5 feet from me at eye level seem to fill that bill just fine, as well as doing what is called 3d flying.
Vaping has given me such a relief from smoking, I was a 1-3 PAD reds smoker, and now I am smoke free. I do cheat every now and again with either a little snuff or dip, but I have snuff from years ago, never really goes bad, and will get a can of dip, and only have 2-3 out of it before it is all dried up :).
On another note, I have been using my mech mods more, the Silver Bullet with a 2 ohm and some good juice in the frosted tank is just plain awesome. Been leaning more towards menthol's lately in that, and sweet tarts in the Evic.

I have a standard smoker and did ribs a few days ago, 5 hours with Hickory and Mesquite, so good, toss some squash on there for the last 1 and a half hours, simply splendid. That interesting looking smoker looks interesting, if a little small for a family of 5. I love doing a good 8-10 hour brisket and have all sorts of interesting goodies in the fridge. Last night since I was staying up late made some spicy pickled cauliflower, could not resist and popped one open, this stuff will be so good in about a week or so once all of the flavors meld together. The wife is begging me to make some preserves, and the wild blackberrys will be ripe in a week or two :)
