4. 8/25 - I'm no guru, but I can repeat what has been said by many. A good clearomizer should be less muted than a cartomizer, most folks say as much. While I agree with this, I've hard a terrible time with Bottom Coil Clearomizers leaking. I haven't found the difference to be all that extreme, personally. Weighing the pros and cons, I'll take a little less flavor over leaking. :2c:, YMMV, etc.

I've actually had the opposite experience with BCCs, so far.
I've found the flavors quite muted with eVods and the original PT. CEs and novas no better. This is compared to the Boges. There is a little "bite" to the carto flavor-wise, but much stronger flavor overall.
Again, Just my personal experience and to quote Schnarph, "your mileage may vary..."

edit: my AGA-T2 has been the strongest flavor i've experienced, to date...

Good afternoon, VVV'ers! And congrats to Tigger (I think...it's so confusing).

Chipping in on the bcc vs. top clearos -- I love my Evod when it had the original head, but even then a disposable CE4 gives better vapor and flavor. The tradeoff is that the CE4 will leak/gurgle more and uses more juice. At least, that's my experience.

I'm a little bummed. Thought the peroxide soaking cured my evod head issues, but I can taste the flavor coming back again. It just took a little longer. I think I'll start swapping parts into my old head assembly to try to pinpoint the issue (center post, top silicone cap, bottom rubber sleeve, center post, wicks, coil). At least it'll keep me occupied for a little while.

#3 for 08/25

Thank you for all the responses re: bcc v. cartos. I really like my PT2 now that it is not burning my sinuses to a screaming pitch. FYI, per my local B&M, this has happened to others. Something about a vapor lock type thing at the coil. A firm grip on the tank/battery and a few "flips" or "flicks" of the wrist is a solution. When you see the bubbles rising in the liquid, the lock is gone. Worked for me anyway. Whip it, Whip it good!

Other than the PT2, all of my bottom coil clearos have gone south on me. Gurgling, flooding both my mouth and my battery. It often happens when they get below 1/2 full but now my Vision Victory bcc is doing it almost all the time. Heads replaced, everything cleaned and it just doesn't seem to help. So, I am essentially down to my PT2 and my Smok DCT. I really think I have just rationalized the NEED for an order from VVV, don't you? I don't think my DCT has the flavor of my PT2 but it is not a boge cart and I hope that will be the difference. I am afraid that I may actually try dripping sometime in the future but it will be a ways down the vaping trail. I need ease of use, convenience and a long lasting tank. I can't keep dripping and driving, doncha know? That being said, I am about to embark on the DIY path and I will need a cheap dripping set up for testing, or so I have read.

whats the PIF list for? sorry im new i claim ignorance.

PIF is Pay it forward, it is a way for the vaping community to help those in need or new vapers to keep going on the healthier course. If you have not won the vvv contest then copy and past the list with your name added to the list. Should I win the contest with no more need I am going to PIF to the list. NRay is a great person and the vape community is as well. Add your name as well as others who have not won.

Wow... just fund out that Mechs eat batteries...
2200mah battery... <2ml on 1.4 ohm coil
I need a bigger battery...

I go through ~3ml on an 1100 mah winder/twist with a 2ohm boge

edit: (2) questions for the mech lovers...
What's the best battery for running close to sub ohm?
Is it OK to do only 2-wraps on mesh?

Here's a question for you gurus: Are Ray's boges any better tasting than the ones sold as "smok tech dct" cartos? I find that the flavor is just a tiny bit muted with the carto over my PT2. I have only used the cartos from my local B&M and that is all they sell. Nice thing is that I will HAVE to order some in the very near future and that will set me up for a tank as well. YEA!

Here's my :2c:. Ray sells Boge Cartomizers. In MHO they are the best flavor and quality cartos. I have found I get much more flavor and vapor than any clearo I've ever used when I punch my own. The pre-punched holes are too tiny, you might be able to enlarge them using a pin and wiggling it around in the hole. I like to punch my own it gives me more control of hole placement. I like the small holes for thin fluids plus I like 2 holes with the holes on opposite sides with one higher than the other. For thicker juices I use a plastic head tack and stick it in one hole(the lower one) and twist until it's the size I want (for real thick juices I enlarge both holes). With this much control of my holes and a lot of practice I never have a flooding problem. I started a thread when I first got on ECF about hole punching, here.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...93326-how-you-punching-holes-your-cartos.html

Also I use the condom method to prime my cartos. The way I do it is much faster than using a syringe and nothing to clean but a little rubber cap.
I take the larger rubber cap that comes on the carto and fill it about 1/2 way with e-liquid, I push a punched carto in it. The liquid should almost fill the carto to the top. I squeeze the end of the condom to get most the liquid into carto then I hold condom firmly with my fingers over the punched holes and blow into top of carto forcing e-liquid into the batting and it is ready to go. If you put a little to much liquid in remove the carto from condom and blow excess into a napkin. With practice you will know how much liquid to use. If I need to add more e-liquid I put a toothpick carefully in the hole at the center of batting material and add a few more drops and give it a couple thermometer type shakes to force it into batting. The whole process taked about 30 seconds. Tip#1: carefully poke holes in batting with a needle to make absorption faster. Tip#2: (waste-not, want-not) Take the condom and squeeze the last litte bit of liquid on Ray's carto tool and lubricate your O-rings(tip too). Tip#3: Don't forget to do some dry draws to re-prime carto if you let it sit unused for a while. Enjoy, I hope I helped ya. :vapor:

Sorry I'm so long winded. I lurk a couple times a day checking out what everyone is up to. Usually I just click an occasional like button to let ya know I'm around. If I have something to say, I post. I usually say to much and sometimes I wish I kept my big mouth shut, LOL. My Bad.

While you are at it, if you feel like repeating yourself for the umpteeth time, what is the best battery for my Smok ZMax? I read all the battery blogs etc. and came away confused. I am sorry for being so dense when it comes to power but I do not understand protected/unprotected and all the other stuff. I have heard not to buy anything with "fire" in the name for safety reasons. I have 18650 EH IMR (2000 mAh, I do understand that a little bit) batteries now, but I have no idea what they are. They were recommended but I would like to know why? I also read that the 2600 mAh really don't provide a much better life span than the 2000. I would like a longer life span because I vape a lot. Have I mentioned that I love to vape?

Thank you very much RiverRat. It is helpful. Everyone here has been very helpful. I don't know why but I don't get so overwhelmed with the answers from you folks. When I was reading on the new members forums I just crossed my eyes and gave up. Learning curve has been steep, that is for certain.

Boges from Ray from now on for me. So far the prepunched 2 hole dual coils are working fine with my juices. Got dry once but only once and now I know to re-prime as necessary. I vape mostly 60/40 pg/vg. Maybe that is the difference. I have some 50/50 but nothing less on the PG side. I like throat hit.
