The 6th circle
I'm running a 1.6 ohm coil on my Igo-w
I torched the 32g kanthol with a lighter before I wrapped my wick.
After I wrapped and cut the wick I torched the whole setup (with a BIC lighter) in blue-flame.
Rigged it up, then tested it.

One last thing, JPF... is airflow! If the juice or a finger blocks the air-hole I get some flav, but little vapor...

Oh yeah... air-hole has to be as close to the coil as possible...

I would suggest boiling silica wick for 15 minutes and letting it dry before using it. Like many things made in factories for purposes other than vaping, it's going to taste funky from residue. If you've already made the coil and wick, try cleaning it once. Nothing too extreme, just take off the cap and put the parts in a coffee mug with some freshly boiled water for a few minutes. Rinse and repeat can't hurt. I prefer the taste of a wick that has been used at least once and then cleaned over a fresh one, even after the initial 15 minute boil. YMMV

Edit: You don't need to remove the coil and wick.

Good morningnite folks. [this little yawny guy never yawns. been watching him for longer than I care to admit and not one yawn. it says 'yawn' when I picked him and now he says 'bored' when I hover over him with my mouse. whatever happened to truth in advertising? I have been had! I want my money back! Wait, didn't....spend...any.....$$$...g'nite ]

Sleep well, dream sweetly and vape strong! Tomorrow is another day and it is a work day. Darn. Nice, relaxing weekend with mom and I am a bit spoiled. Booking loads, billing loads and more work on those nasty back taxes as well as a trip to Wally World. I think I just scared myself. Need to vape. Yep, need a vape right now. :vapor:

1. 8/26 - 1.7 ohms on an RDA is where the ohms charts tend to fail. 1.7 ohms would be very low for a cartomizer, not necessarily too low for some folks in a clearomizer, but a just little high for an RDA. If the flavor is good, then going with lower resistance might burn the juice. If it's the vapor production you're missing, the battery could be low on charge, too much or not enough e-liquid, the coil is too far back from the air hole or below it/to the side...

Good flavor and decent vapor production usually go together. Wrapping the wick too tight will cut off liquid flow and burn what's there at the same time. A flooded coil will give good flavor and little vapor, but it usually leaks out the airhole at that point, unless the coil is below the airhole. Welcome to round (?) in your rebuildable adventures!
