Provari is only vv, I have one and that is what I'll stand by.
but I'm pretty sure there is a set wattage, isn't there?
When you set your volts and know your atty's resistance, then the watts are a given number.
Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator
If your Provari is at 4 volts with a 2 ohm carto, you are using 8 watts. At 4 volts and a 3 ohm carto, it's 5.3 watts.
The reason it seems like more power, is because it is. The Provari gives out nearly constant power while firing, and almost everything else sends out on/off spike bursts (cheating). That's what makes the Provari worth what it costs. If you don't notice this and are happy with a Vamo/Zmax/innokin (+1 for VW!), then it's not really worth it. They do seem to take a beating though, so that's another plus.

For a one button menu, I like the Zmax because of it's variable wattage (set it and forget it). If I had to go through menus with one button every time I switched resistances (VV) I would find it irritating. YMMV, I'm not knocking the Provari... much.:p

A Provari output, which is only VV, is 600hz most other VV or VW mods are about 33-36hz at any voltage or wattage setting. This makes the Provari's smooth delivery of power closer to what a mech mod gives you. I've had a VMax and broke it in 3 months, about standard for most of my mods up until then. My Provari is almost 9 months old and other than scratches and dings it works the same as the day I got it. At the time I bought it I thought it was the best value for me. Not the least expensive or the most but the best value. My VMax cost me almost $100 when I bought it. 3 months dead, 9 months still like new!
Please don't get mad at me or call me a fanboy, in the months I've been on this thread I always refer to my Provari as my main PV. If I had to do it again if I could afford it I'd buy another one, that is if I didn't have one no need for 2. Now I like my mech at home, but go through batteries like crazy cause I don't like the voltage drop.

This may be the longest post I've made here.

#1.

Well I was late to the party today guys and girls all this running around... Did manage to shrink the footprint on my evercool circuit board enough to fit the plate back on the back, I guess a trip to fast tech may be in order for another box to replace the one I had to cut out the back of.

3- Well the Gary Sensei party was quite fun, food was alright, saying on a military installation, if you want people to show up, give free food just before payday lol. Got another scratch build plane done today, looking at doing one more foamy plane then might start cracking away on something bigger.
