After closer inspection it appears that one of the solder jointa has lifted... I'm going to take it into work Monday and solder it back up and hope the actual component is good

Would you settle for this light? It may be possible to gut it and make it a mod.

Or maybe this actual screwdriver...

For cleaner teeth...

There is also a very fancy TV remote that looks like the other sonic screwdrivers, but it's $100. Not gutting that...

The screwdriver looks most likely! I was actually looking at it for that purpose. ;-) I'm just not good with that size of electronic components.
