My friend just received two Samsung INR18650-25R. I've told him to send them back, but maybe someone can shed some light on the subject. I've never seen batteries like these. Looks like they just pulled them from a battery pack.

Edit: Apparently this was a mistake on my friends part. As an Australian buying from a Korean website (Hangul) he accidentally selected spot welded batteries. Not the vendors fault. I'm just not sure for what application you would use spot welded batteries.

Ya it's amazing what companies will sell. The vendor has been contacted and even said this seemed dodgy. I'm sure my friend will get it all sorted.

On another note, this same friend just recently returned from Malaysia where he bought a load of vape gear. When I asked him about the batteries he told me ICR. Why would a vape shop even carry ICR batteries in their store? They were only interested in making the sale regardless of the consequences. :( Scares me to think about how many people are out there vaping with unsafe batteries.
