I watched a ridiculous video on youtube with a guy spending about 20 minutes babying a fresh crown coil... primer hit after primer hit, slowly increasing the wattage, blah blah blah... I will prime mine, and even resorted to letting them soak in a tank of juice overnight only to have dry hits start on an 80/20 juice and wattages below 60.
I have never had to go through much work to break in an atlantis, subtank, arctic, herakles, TFV4 or any other new coil. I may have just got a bad run from my two crown tanks and the coils I bought separately.
I used a 22g needle and pushed it in to each juice hole on the coil and not a single dry hit... there isn't any flooding or spitback... but it is just a tad wetter than normal. In the future I will just try a smaller needle or be a little lighter handed.
I wanted the crown to be my go to tank... the black one on my black x-pro 80 plus looks great and hits like a beast for suck a small set up... when I went to top fill the entire chimney unscrewed and juice spilled everywhere... so we are not there yet... But I do believe the crown is worth a little effort... when it vapes correctly it is really amazing!
