Thank you all for the warm welcoming! I am definitely excited. I texted a few buddies who do not frequent this message board and have no clue about the Reo. They all seem interested, but skeptical nevertheless. Hopefully, I will become a 'reonaut' like you folks and be able to spread the word here locally and bring Mr. O'Neil some more business. :)

WHAT?! What do you mean?!!!!

Hopefully, I will become a 'reonaut' like you folks and be able to spread the word here locally and bring Mr. O'Neil some more business.

You already bought a Reo so you're already a Reonaut!

( Some day you might even jump to the defense of our " fearless leader" and his mods too:laugh:...we're all very adamant about our Reos once we realize how aweome they are!)

"Course, I'VE never been guilty of such behavior....

and Welcome!!!

Did someone say juice Ho-ar? Juices to try again, some over 2 yrs old, kept at 45-50F. Hoping they are good. Several FSUSA juices I pulled out, a few months ago, at near 3 yrs age were magnificent!!! Those were our "normal" use caramel, butterscotch almond, Hopscotch I had forgotten about. Picture doesn't include 9 lbs of juices I off-loaded in Spring '12 nor about 3/4 liter of our every day butterscotches (I'm afraid to put them in cooler for fear of "losing" them), or flavorants or several liters 100mg nic in freezer, or two gallons of plain PG and half gallon of plain VG. (Two gallons of PG as I had to up the total a bit, for free shipping, from farm supply store, when I ordered some sheep cards and PG. (For Y2K we had enough toilet tissue for us and bartering it took us, 3-4 peeps, five years to use up.)

I can picture it now... your REO arrives on Friday and you're winding and measuring a coil when everyone leaves for the weekend. Your crew comes in Monday and the shop is filled with fog. They open the windows and air it out to find you huddled in a corner, surrounded by empty juice bottles, stroking your REO and blabbering, "My precious, my precious." They try to take it from you and you defend it like a wolf over a fresh kill. But all those guys overwhelm you, and take it away and hide it. Then it hits you--you need a backup! You shove them aside as you scramble for the computer to order another one. It could happen! :D

O M W !!!!!! Now i need a new monitor! And keyboard!!:lol::lol::lol:

I am not going to be able to build this micro coil fast enough!! I will admit, this mod looks WAY better in person. I really like the texture and color, it's great for work as I typically have greasy/dirty hands (which doesn't jive with my brass Chi lol). Defintely surprised for the better, not gonna lie ;). It's also much smaller than I had thought. Cannot wait to get 'er up and goin!

Couple quick questions.

1) Is the RM2 supposed to sit flush? Mine seems to tighten down pretty firmly with about 1/8th of an inch of brass showing at the bottom?

2) How small are the holes on the posts supposed to be? One seems about right, the other is TINY. Like, I am not sure if my 28g is going to fit, type of tiny.

3) Lastly, am I supposed to put an o ring in/around the catch cup area (do not know how to describe it, but I think you guys know what I mean).

Thanks!

Nope... yours looks perfect.

You should be able to get even 24 gauge in there... make sure the screw is backed way out (and get ready to catch it)

3) Lastly, am I supposed to put an o ring in/around the catch cup area (do not know how to describe it, but I think you guys know what I mean).

If the air hole is pointed away from the fire button without an o-ring, you're okay. The purpose of one or two o-rings is to achieve that position when the atty is snuggly (but not overly) tightened.

The o-ring fits down in the drip well around the connector. It will help you adjust the air hole away from you as you vape (so as not to obstruct air intake.) There may be a small slice of brass showing above the drip well when the RM2 is totally screwed in. If you don't like it, you can (I do) put an o-ring (I use Danco #7....I'll send you one if you want) over it and it'll just look like the bottom of the atty is black. :)

The holes on mine are the same size; I'm thinking you should be fine....if you have trouble getting the wire in, hmmmm....maybe try to ream it out a tiny bit. I think it should be fine.

Position the air intake hole in the cap so that it's facing out when you take a vape. And DON'T be a button masher (a tendency with new Reonauts)....hold it up to your ear and you can hear it hiss when it makes contact. That should tell you how light of a touch you'll need to fire it.

HURRY UP and get it going.....we're ALL waiting to hear.

Hi Cloudz.....

1) it doesn't sit flush

2) i don't think the holes in the posts are different sizes ( tho i'm about as blind as a bat, so'd need magnifying glasses) but my 30 gauge kanthal slips right thru..

3)The 0-ring sits in the juice well before you put in the RM2, to help the line up of the airhole on the RM2 away from your face and to insure that the RM2 isn't tightened down too much to mess up the 510 connector threads in the catchcup of the Reo. I just keep one in all my Reos as a just in case....

Threw together a quick little 8-9 wrap 28 microcoil. It aint perty, but it works! I definitely need to bore the hole out on the cap and work on lower ohm'd coils as this one is in the 1-1.2 range which is high (way high lol) for me. I am used to vaping .5ish.

However, the smoothness and vapor production is quite impressive! I am impressed for sure. I need to learn when to squonk and when not to squonk, but I am definitely excited!

For the fellas that like a big mean coil/vapor production, how many wraps with 28g (all I have at the time) and what sized holes do you have on your atty's?

Oh yea, I am completely open to buying 26,27g or trying nichrome (or whatever the case may be to get the most intense vape).

THANKS!

Try a 5-6 wrap of the 28. Don't think I'd go below that.

I'm using 8 wraps around a 1/16" drill bit or 16 gauge luer lock filler needle of 26 AWG Nichrome 60 for 0.5Ω (resistance about the same as 25 AWG Kanthal A1) and of 8 wraps of 27 AWG Kanthal A1 for 0.8Ω. Still a lot of vapor on the latter and very, very smooth. My backordered 26 AWG Kanthal A1 just came in today, so I'll let you know how that works out.

I still haven't drilled the air hole in any of my RM2s and am pretty happy. You will probably get a #56 bit in the air hole (1.2 mm) and may want to go up to a 55 first. I don't think I'd go larger than a #54 (1.4 mm). YMMV It's chrome-plated brass so pretty easy to drill.

So Cal
awesome thanks guys. I actually like a free flow vape, opened it up to 3/32 (I work in .001's here at work), which is about .090" (alittle over 2mm). It's better, but I STILL feel some resistance opposed to my Chi when vaping. It's probably because I am vaping at double the ohms as to what I am used to.

I do have a strand of 27g laying around, i'll try a 6-7 wrap on that and see how I fair. I am a vapor/flavor/TH hoar. This thing is vaping smooth, but isn't hitting the TH and vapor production that my chi is doing. Again, let me get a .5ohm coil, THEN compare :)

Also, do you guys vape, mouth---->lungs, or straight lungs? If that makes any sense? I feel like I am gonna give myself a brain aneurism trying to get a nice vape via straight lung vaping. Thought it was the cap hole (which is partially was), but I think it's just the fact I am used to vaping .4-.5ohms. Again, we will see here shortly :)
