Well, dont like the taste of the juice I bought too much. Good thing about an e-cig store close to home. Also, I am getting a bit of a headache I think because of the taste of the juice. Ever had a smell that gives you a headache ? Kind of like that and I dont think it is the nicotine. I am using .12 as .18 was dizzy city to my shock.

I guess I should not have expected to quit regular cigs cold turkey the moment I got this e-cig. I have to find better flavored juice. I have had a few drags off a regular cig this evening instead of 5 or more cigs that I would have smoked in the same time period so I know I am on the right track. This juice though... Not crazy about it... It's called Fire Cured Virgina. Taste like stale non filters ! I have to find what works and I am sure I will. I will be at the e-cig shop when the doors open ! I do want tobacco flavor though and I know not to expect perfection. Any suggestion from those that prefer tobacco flavors ?

Some juices require steeping, or aging, especially tobacco flavors. You can also not expect these flavors to be the same as the brand you smoked.

When I first started out I also wanted a juice that tasted just like my Marlboro menthols, but guess what? I never found one that satisfied me and ended up trying other flavors to which I have come to like. I understand you want that tobbacco taste since you just switched but you will be surprised at what you end up vaping.

Good luck and welcome to ECF :)

Anyone else get a headache when they started vaping ? Does .12 seem a bit low for a 25 year smoker ? I have smoked outside for the last two years and not in the car so maybe I wasnt intaking as much nicotine as I thought and I am over doing it. Also, I only smoked about a half a cig to 3/4 for some odd reason. I just feel like that is enough most of the time.

If I could offer some advice, don't be so set on a tobacco flavor. Most of us who have been vaping a while have found that tobacco flavors are the toughest for manufacturers to get right. And the flavor that you got very well might be a good flavor but needs to "steep", or mature, before it reaches its optimal flavor. This can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

You do realize that you will not find a flavor that tastes anything close to a real cigarette, right? There is no way to recreate the taste of burning tobacco and paper. Don't waste your money trying to find that. It doesn't exist.

Vaping is not the same as smoking. It is of itself a different animal. Accept that and you will have an easier time giving up the smokes and learning to like vaping.

Your taste bud are shot from years of smoking, whether you realize it or not. Many of the flavors that you try will taste muted or weird. A tip to try is to learn to exhale through your nose. Our sense of taste is closely related to smell, as shown when you have a stuffy nose and your food tastes bland or muted. So until your taste buds heal, let your nose help you to "taste" your vapor.

Drink plenty of water. Vaping can dehydrate you and cause dry mouth. That can affect taste, too.

Vape as much as you feel you need. When you feel the need to smoke, vape harder and more frequently. Should even that not work, it won't be the end of the world should you smoke part of a cigarette. If you vape more than you smoke, eventually the cigarette will become less satisfying, and you will actually begin to prefer to vape over smoking.

Finding a couple good flavors is as important as finding the right equipment for you. Your next few months will concentrate on finding flavors that you like to vape day in and day out.

If you have a local vendor, see if they allow you to test out flavors in the shop. If not, buy sample packs from online vendors to save money. Don't waste money on large bottles of juice that you may never like. Once you find a sample juice you like, buy more in a larger bottle.

And remember, its not how many cigarettes you smoke, its how many you didn't.

i gave up on tobacco flavors before i even started by reading these forums. the false hope given to mimic smoking is like chasing a unicorn... accept that vaping is different and better for you and it will all piece together and you will find some stuff you really like. heck, my brother got his swedish fish juice today.... OMG delicious :thumb:

besides, now i vape cake, coffee, and fruit flavors and it is pleasant to those around me as well lol

liquid drummer.....im not sure bout your headaches....ive only been off analogs for 3 weeks, but have noticed changes....not always for the best, hard to sleep....moodiness....im thinking it has a lot to do with the changes, and nicotine.......keep in mind when you vape a nicotine cig....you may smoke it more than you would a norm cig....so your intaking much more nic. So my advice would be to use a lower nic level juice...once you find that flav that works...im in that process too, so dont sweat it...

You might enjoy an RY4 flavor from one of the reputable vendors. It is a sweet caramel/vanilla/tobacco flavor. I started on it, and go back to it often. Blue Mist's RY4.5 is good. Like almost everyone has noted though, the natural tendency is to think that starting with tobacco flavors is the way to go, but it may just be so frustrating that it sets you back. Unless you have a really great retail store near by, I would try a number of different sample flavors from internet vendors, including fruits, sweets, and some tobaccos, in small sizes until you find what you like. It's a never ending search that is fun along the way. When I first started, I thought, well, the best way to quit will be to get a device that looks just like a cigarette, and find something that tastes like Marlboro reds. How wrong I was. I just needed something that worked well enough that I didn't get frustrated, and tasted good enough that I wanted to keep vaping it. Strange how our initial tendencies are exactly the wrong thing to reach for at first.

Welcome. You are on the right track. When you find a juice you like it will be better, but that may take time. I have heard the tobacco flavors are hard. Buy small for now, untill you find what you like. Glad to hear you have a store nearby. Best wishes.

Great advice :thumb: This would be my recommendation also.

IMHO the Tobbacco flavors are the hardest to get right, but when you do they can't be equaled, so hang in there... each Vendor's Tobacco(s) can be totally different while the flavor being labeled the same, such as "555, RY-4, Virginia cured, Marboro".... what have you.

Congratulations Liquid Drummer on taking the first steps & happy vaping! :smokie:

Hello, I am new to this forum as well, and this is my first post. I've been a member since 2011, but I never really read up on what others were doing. My experience has been through trial and error, although now, I wish I had come here a long time ago. I have been reading for the past 2 hours and I've learned so much! I've been vaping for almost 3 years and I love my candy flavored juices. I'm happy to share my experience with juices and what my faves are if anyone has questions. I own a Bolt (with the extension, for (2) 18350 batteries) from Mad Vapes and a destroyed (but working) acrylic tube mod. I just bought a ZMax and I can't wait to be able to post in that forum!

Second the Halo sample pack.
Also, check Bloog/Smoklessimage. They have some very popular flavors and IMHO, one of the better RY4s.
The goal is to find something in the major(?) brands that you and others can compare and contrast.
Don't like Dekang Ry, try hangsen, Don't like those, try the Tribeca, don't like that , try the Janty Ry etc.
Jim's flue cured honey golden 5 leaf virginia prime sounds good, but we can't help you with it because only 150 people around his shop have tried it.

Good luck

Happened to me. I had very bad headache from 2 of the 4 favors that I had bought.
As I am new too, only coming to a month, I am not sure what causes the headache.
The juices are all at 11mg and being just a beginner, I wasn't chain vaping. So I doubt it is overload with nic.
One of the flavor was RY4, it gave me a migraine like headache.
Everyone gave me advice to drink more water, so you should too.
I didn't touch the RY4 until today, surprisingly, no headache after a tank.
So I think maybe the whole thing is just because we are new to vaping, but I still think flavor has something to do with it.
More to learn each day..

You people are amazing. So much advise and help. I really have zero excuses when it comes to making this stick. This is my 1st full day with my EGO-C. I have been awake for about 45 minutes and really dont want a cig or a vape. I know, the craving will come at some point but it is almost always kicked in by now. I think the difference now is that I really want to stop nicotine and smoking. I really do want to keep something that has a hint of tobacco taste along with coffee maybe or honey. Those types of e-juice sound good. And HOW does it dehydrate you ? I dont understand that. Off the e-cig store when the 1st craving start kicking. Gotta find the right juice... You people are awesome... So glad I found this place.
