Zofryer, interesting post, but that's for branding and marketing.

I believe what is being discussed here is more what we end-users ought to call what we do with the product.

I think a thing like that just depends on the natural evolution of the language among the members of a group. The terms "vaping", "mods", "modding" and "PV" seem to rising up to the forefront over the last six months or so, and I don't see how any attempts to change or direct the natural course of common usage is going to be effective.

It's too late to change the terms currently used anyway, but I for one am happy with them as they are. They work. They communicate. That's all language is for.

Just IMO.

P.S.
This must constitute a forum record for length of dormancy for a thread before it got resurrected!

Interesting dialog. I don't know what a proper name for our addiction and new passtime is. I do most of my e-smoking in private or among friends. I don't know if we want to embrase our tobacco roots or put some distance between us and the cigarette. That might depend on what Judge Leon has to say about the definition of our passtime really is in the eyes of the law. When asked what that is I am holding I say "it's an electronic cigarette". I still get weird looks from non-smokers.

The jury is still out in my case too. I am addicted to cigarettes and I am not sure if the nicotine I am getting from this electronic device will be enough to keep me either sane or off of cigarettes. It hasn't been an easy transition for me. I'm still fighting, going on 7 months now and I can't honestly say that I will succeed. I wont go down easy, I'm going to fight as long as I can.
