were you a non-smoker when you started?

I did and probably still would enjoy pipes and cigars. But we are talking about less than a cigar a week over the last year or so and at the most one pipe a day. I love vaping.

I can't remember the last time I tried a cigarette. I never and will never understand smoking them. They are terrible smelling, tasteless, almost tobacco-less, pieces of trash.

When I smoke a pipe or cigar, and now vape, it's more akin to a something relaxing, or social. There is no real addiction of anything, well except maybe CAD (cigar acquistions disorder) or PAD, and now VAD :D

Massive tobacco user in multiple forms from chewing tobacco to cigarettes to pipes snuff and back to cigarettes. It seems that through all of that, cigs were my crutch in life. Tobacco has also caused me a number of health related issues from mouth sores to COPD. I can't blame asthma on it, but I can say that it didn't do me any good...Dad's working with Agent Orange in Vietnam gave me the asthma.

I've tried quitting a number of times over the years...never lasting more than a few days at a stretch. Once I began vaping, I was able to walk away from them without much trouble. I'm 4 weeks clean now, and am re-learning smells and tastes. One thing I've learned...my coat closet stinks from smoke clinging to my jacket and winter coat. They are both in the laundry now. My workshop in the basement smell real bad, and I've got some smoker's candles burning down there right now, trying to kill the smell. I've sprayed every smoke killing spray on the market through the house, and the smell is getting better. I only smoked in the basement shop, but the smoke came up through the floor...not a good smell.

On my next doctor appointment, the doc is going to re-test my lung capacity. I'm hoping to see improved numbers there...because I know I'm breathing MUCH better. Vaping has either saved my life...or prolonged it. Only time will tell...

I remember the smoker house smells well .. I had quit smoking in the house 5 years ago and even still as a smoker, it still smelled bad .. How's that for irony?.. :) It took washing down all the walls and floors as well as repainting the ceilings before I could finally get rid of that smell. Sad part was, when I was washing the walls I could see 5 years of accumulated nicotine and tar on the walls and even that disgusting mess didn't deter me from smoking. I can't even imagine what 35+ years looks like..

Smoked for 35 years and mostly roll-ups. Bought an E-Smart and quit analogs in 2 days. I remember the first time I left the house without a pack in my pocket and I was not panicking. Upgraded to a secondhand provari and love it. I intend to cut down on the nicotine but I am really enjoying the new smells and tastes at the moment.

I had a problem with that also. It is assumed that if you vape you are a current or ex-smoker.

I have never used tobacco in any form. But I got involved in vaping trying to get my wife to stop smoking. It did not work, but I picked it up as a a hobby.

A second non smoker. I vape cause I like the mechanics of it.

There were several questions on the survey that were impossible for a non smoker to answer, for example how many cigarets a day did you smoke. There was no 0 answer and you had to answer the question.
