That would have to be organized by someone else. I don't live close enough to that. This is for the Orange County LA area only.
I would definitely be in! My wife and I are always going up to O.C. for Ducks games and stuff anyways. What sites have you thought of so far?

Well I am thinking So-Cal for the meetup.
However I wanted people to post where they are at and which is easier LA or So-Cal.
So once I get more head counts I can pick the place.

I would say OC since it would be pretty centraly located for LA people and for us San Diego people.
That sounds like the best bet to me as well.. Do I smell Disneyland or Medieval Times???

It looks like we have a pretty good interest in this. Lets say we get 20 people who want to go I will work on setting the date.
As of now the place will be the OC.
This gives us the option of Downtown Disney... so that could be fun.

ok...short version, then i have to go to bed.
I used to have a bunch of marine aquariums and spent a lot of time in rec.aquaria.marine.reef talking with people all over.
There was a guy that posted on there that lived about 15 miles from me (in phoenix, that's practically across the street).
After a few weeks of semi-regular banter, discussing the various stores we shopped at, similar species, etc...he suggested that my fiance and i meet up with him and his girlfriend for dinner and chat. I bring it up to the fiance, she's ok with it, we make plans.
We meet at this japanese place, midpoint between us and this is where the "fun" begins.
1) he said his name was angel
2) apparently that meant "angel of being f.cking insane and thinking you're a vampire" because the guy was so goth he sh.t bats and walked around with a cane, a long, flowing, cape-like...thing...and had jet-black (dyed) hair and eye-liner.
3) his "girlfriend" looked like something out of a trailer park that had just been hit by an f-5 tornado
4) she reckoned she wasn't really his girlfriend because he was gay.
5) she was actually his vampire...slave...thing...
My fiance developed a sudden migraine after drinks and we made a hasty exit.
"angel" apparently got my full name from eyeballing the credit card receipt i was signing because he was phoning me about every 27 minutes for the next 2 weeks and finally showed up at my house where he proceeded to profess his "lust" for me and asked me to join his vampire club where i could be his #2 blood-sucker...guy...or whatever and my fiance could be one of our "slaves"
just about then, he found himself looking at something very similar to this :
whilst receiving a "polite invitation" to .... my doorstep and if you ever come back again i'm going to put so many holes in you they won't know whether to take you to a trauma center or a screen-door repairman.
I also called the cops after he left and gave them his description and a run-down of the events up to that point. They reminded me that arizona is a castle doctrine state and that if he was to return it would probably be in my best interest to take care of business.
And that's pretty much that.
