I dropped my I -taste mvp2 in a clean toilet. It was submerged for two seconds.I shook all the water I could out and misted open elect. ports with wd40 and shook that out.It will turn on and off but when on the lights on the firing button will flash. I covered it up in a ziplock and covered it with rice. Any suggestions. No wise cracks about cooking etc.Are there plugs for the charging and outlet covers available? Thanks ,Dave:mad:

Yes there are micro USB and Normal USB covers available on amazon.com. However it is most likely that using those will make the bottom of the unit unstable, and unable to stand up.

I'm not sure I would trust a unit that's been dunked like that. I'd probably have to disassemble it and try to dry everything out.

I have wanted a little rubber bootie that you could slip on the bottom that would prevent issues from accidentally setting the unit on a table with some standing liquid on it (like from a cup...)

I don't know of anything that will help a unit once it has been dunked though...

At least they're only 40 bucks or so to replace.....

Any word on if the rice worked? I was sitting on the couch, and my kid knocked my glass of water over, and the water went directly up the USB port. Really unfortunate that the water went directly up that port! Same issues you've had. Lights blink and what not. Then it started firing by itself. Bagged it with the rice and waiting. Wondering if yours works now, or if I should go ahead and place an order.

really mad because I just got my Jwrap on it 2 days ago haha

I just got an e-LVT which is like a "ruggedized" version of the MVP 2. It has IPX-1 level of water resistance and uses a standard 18650 replaceable battery.

It too, sadly, failed the "I dropped it in the toilet test". But it was easy enough to disassemble to dry out the internals, so I was able to get it back and running again. Also the USB port IS on the side, so it will easily survive the "knock some water on it" test.

You can view the whole saga here....

It's a perfect mod for tough environments and the occasional splash damage.....
