The 510 with manual battery is my favorite e-cig so far. I have several 801s and 901s that I purchased before 510. I get about one hour of battery life with 510, so that is the only reason why I still use 901 sometimes. But as soon as I get more batteries for 510 and USB passthrough I will retire 901 completely.

I am new to ecigs so The 510 is my first any so far only unit. The only problems I have so far is the short battery life. I will have to buy more batteries before I can cut loose from the cigarettes completely.

a2dconvert .... you jammy git .... wish the dura was my first purchase .. i would of saved a lot of money ... had 5 differnt models and this is the best one ....i heard on the grape vine that the pass through and pcc for the manual batteries are on their way ... a month or so i think ....

the only thing i dont like is that the button can (and has) been pressed while in my pocket .. but that really is a learning curve and down to my own stoopidity

its easy to top off like a 901 but doesnt have the flakey batteries like the 901

hey guys,

do any of you know what would case the draw on a dura-c to be very hard, I had to suck like a loony to get any vapour from it! I have sent it back but would like maybe a model from a different manufacturer.

with my 901 i get nice airflow when i suck, with the dura it was very bad!!

Do you think the atomizers may have been faulty?

I really didn't care for the 510 at all. Some people are listing the hot vapor as a postive - why? That's complaint number 1 for me. All of my e-cigs overheat if overused, but this is the only that on drag 2 feels like it's burning my mouth! The automatic battery is next to impossible to get a good drag off of as it shuts off so quick. I agree with Spikey about the switch on the manual being impossible to use your index finger on - I just use my thumb and don't mind that part so much, but it could be better designed in this respect. I also am not enamored with the cartridge life, given the size of the wick. I have checked out two minis with smaller internal carts and they both last at least as long with less juice, which doesn't make a lot of logical sense.

To make it balanced, I will say these two things in it's favor - it is an easy pull, and for a mini, a very easily refilled cartridge. Internal, recessed cartridges can be kind of pain to refill on the fly, and the way the 510 burns up your liquid, it better be this easy! With the recessed cartridges, you really have to take prefilleds with you - no biggie - get a case.

I have one, and I've got a brother that wants to convert to e-cigs. This one has "give-away" written all over it. That said, this is just one opinion. Many people love it - to each their own I guess.

I absolutely love my Dura-C! I ordered from Janty and recieved it 3 days later. I also got some of their clove flavor, and it's very delish! I own two other e-cigs, a DSE901 and a Great White. Both those cigs came with one defective battery, which made me a little mad. Hah. I get good Throat Hits off the Great White, but have to take a long inhale, and the battery life is pretty good, so I'm using it as my backup cig until I get my pcc and usb passthrough, very soon! My 901 atomizer was covered in primer, I boiled it, and it works good for about 5 drags of a fresh top off, then I get a horrible metal taste, and never get any sort of a throat it from it. I don't really use it, and am gonna give it to a friend.

The Dura-C is great! I only need to take 3 second drags, and I get a powerful throat hit and the atomizer stays cool. It gets really hot though if I take a long 7 second drag, which is what I need to get the same feeling throat hit from my Great White. But quick drags, amazing hits, totally awesome!

The carts are super easy to top off, and a topped off cart gets me roughly 20ish drags till the flavor disappears. I never get any juice leaking out of these carts, and don't even need to drip on to the atomizer! And I hate the taste of juice in my mouth.

Battery life, an hour to two of good usage. There's no flashing lights to tell you it's dead, but your vape gets really weak, at which point I just change the battery to prevent the batteries from going under the battery level of no return.

Manual Switch, I worry about it going off in my pocket, and never push it while you're not sucking, your next hit will taste very yucky. I don't know why some people are finding it difficult to press with the index finger, I find it incredibly easy and natural. Granted, my first few hours with it, it was very strange pressing a button and vaping. Now it's second nature.

I really can't wait to get my pcc, so I can rock a freshly charged battery all day!

Wow, you must have gotten a defective battery. My auto battery doesn't shut off quickly, I can take a 10 second drag if I want!

As for burning up the liquid, I think you mean burning through. Along the lines of what Strayling said; it's a "Mustang" of an e-cig, not a "Pinto" :p

About the funny 'burnt' taste. I think I just cured it.

I ordered two 510s from parked a month ago right after he opened his site. They came with one auto and one manual batteries. No problems with the manuals, but over the first couple weeks the auto batts were 'sticking' a bit and heating up the atomizers a bit toooooo much. The result was a 'burnt taste'. I ordered two more manual batts from the Widow, and we put our autos back as backups.

That being said, even with new stuffed carts and fluid, we still got the burnt taste. Soooo, we both put on our second atoms - all was well, and I went to work on the burnt taste atoms.

First, I didn't soak them in anything, but simply blew them each completely out from the batt side with about 6 long exhales. Then I blew the remaining liquid left in the bottom of the atoms out the air holes by plugging the batt hole with my pinkie. Stuff flew all over the place - LOL. The amount that came out the air holes surprised me. I repeated both steps several times with both 'burnt tasting' atoms and then sat them batt side up on a napkin for a week. DON'T do this with the 'soak in hot water' method or the metal in the atom could rust (or so I read somewhere).

Now after letting them sit for a week, I got brave and screwed one back on my manual batt. I dripped 3 drops of Red Bull 36mg from e-SmokeyTreats on the atomizer and put on a topped up cart. The first draw still had a little burnt taste, but after the 3rd puff all was back to normal. Working perfectly and tasting great!

Just my experience that I wanted to share on this prob.

I think the leaking problem was cured with a tighter cart design. Some suppliers may still have a few of the 'looser' ones mixed in with the new ones. A box of Janty carts I got don't fit as tight (they still don't leak) as a box of the new generic 510 carts I recently purchased. They almost 'click' into place.

I think as stock supplies get refurnished the cart leakage reported will vanish over time.

My only compliant is the leaking. I think for me its user error because I drip too much.
I order parts for it from the WIDOW also. Cheap prices and free shipping on all orders, cant beat that.

The first cart I used with my first starter set leaked a bit when I first put it on... no leaks with any carts since, including refilled. Some carts definately fit tighter than others.

-Runs too hot (atomizer in scorching)
-Battery takes way to long to recharge, any battery that takes longer to recharge than use mean you need multiple charges by default definite negative.

For battery the m401/ Evo is much better but less vapour, personally I wish i could live with less vapour as the Evo is better to use and intellicig are great suppliers. Seems i can't though.

Where is this burnt taste coming from? I've only been using a 510 for the past 2days and the burnt taste is definitely noticible. Draws are harder too, so I blew out the atty as recommended... but it's still a bit hard.

Definitely harder than my M402 and not a whole lot of vapor difference, actually. At least, not as dramatic as I was expecting from people's posts. Am I doing something wrong?

As a former M401 fan, I can tell you that if the difference isn't like night and day, then SOMETHING is wrong! Not sure what to tell you, have you tried a different atomizer? When you blew out the atty, did you get a lot of juice out?

You shouldn't get a burnt taste unless the cart is getting dry (generally)...

The draw is harder on the 510 than the M402, but that is because you are getting more vapor and less air, IMO.

The most common error is not conditioning the 510 batts right out of the box. First charge is 8 hrs....30 minutes of vaping....and then another hr of charging. I don't know why these batts are different from the 401s, 801s, 901s etc etc....but they are. Incorrect conditioning can lead to a poor draw and vapor production right off the bat (no pun intended).

Several other causes that I should mention are quite simple. I've noticed several factory carts that the stuffing is over-packed. If you can't get a good draw when simply drawing on the cart all by itself, you won't get a good draw when it's hooked up to the batt. Another simple fault could be even easier than restuffing a cart. If anything gets in one of the intake holes - a piece of dust, a piece of lint...anything at all, it won't draw correctly. Plug the batt side of the atom with your pinkie and blow thru the cart side. You should feel two columns of air blowing easily out either side near the threads. Even a little dried liquid or gunk from an overfill can cause this.

I assume you tried both atoms that came with the kit. If it's not the atom, then it would have to be either the batt or the cart. There is simply nothing else to keep you from experiencing what we all know. The 510 rocks!

I hope that helps, good luck, and welcome to the group!:)
