I think you will find it too large and it also would require an auxilliary power supply of at least 4 volts to work correctly. I have a similar meter and it required an auxilliary power supply..

Your mod looks cool Retird, I actually have a pm in to mamu asking where she sources those boxes, after seeing the discussion about screens for the dna I did a little searching and came across this, it isnt tiny but isnt as large as some other power meters. It also does not have a reading for ohms but it has all the other stuff, and I think it even has a battery reading, although I do not know much about electronics so I have no idea if that could be incorporated or not. I guess I am just posting this to see if the pros think it would work as a screen for the dna. It is 25 bucks but to me it would probably be worth it to have a screen, that is, if it would work and not be too complicated to do. Here is the link, anyone have any idea if it would work?SKYRC RC Model WM-010 High Precision Battery Watt Meter BK210 | eBay

Yeah it says something about aux battery power but to be honest I am not sure what that means, would it just mean I would need to have a separate battery for it? This is from the listing..
"- Auxiliary battery to power watt meter for measurement down to 0V"
Actually the display is quite small, it says 26mm by 28mm or close to that.

I do see that aux power says 4v to 60v so I assume that means 3.7 will not work and that is what you are talking about.

yep, to measure below 4.0 volts an auxilliary batt is needed, thus more room needed in the mod....

The screen size is 26.6 mm x 28.5 mm......but the case measures 51.3 mm x 42.9 mm x 13.7 mm....so I guess you are thinking of taking the meter electronics out of the meter case....???

Heck, if you have the room inside your mod it may be worth a try....that's what is fun about modding....

if you don't mind me askin, how did you mount your charging circuit and did you use the one from Evolv?

I'm debating if I'm going to just epoxy the hell out of it or what. same thing with the actual DNA board, I'm going back and forth on my mounting methods and tapping people to figure out what they did. Thanks in advance!

The mods hot stuff, you've got a gift. Hopefully I can produce something half as pretty.

I mounted the thumbwheel pot onto a circuit board, then used a spacer between it and the Evolv usb charging board. this combined configuration matched the usb slot and the slot for the pot wheel in the base of the enclosure....I just epoxy'd the board combination to the base of the mod....epoxy'd the back side of the boards to the base....the boards are standing on end (perpendicular to the base)....the DNA board floats just above one of the batteries and is just to the side of the fire button...

good for you....machining your own case will allow you more options....looking forward to pics of your project....

ahh, nice.

I'm debating going to a thumbwheel for mine. I'm machining my case from scratch so I have the option of setting platforms for the various boards but I'm tryin to cram as much into as little space as possible so I can get it as compact as possible.

I was playing with design, and you can actually solder the thumbwheel pot directly to the dna with the pot resting on the dna heat shield....just my thoughts....

The issue here is I'm teaching myself cad/cam and how to use a CNC machine from scratch. I'm pretty handy with manual stuff and I did some 3d modeling for computer animation so using autodesk inventor isn't too hard for me. I've got some pretty exciting ideas I'm not gonna share on here because theres a slight chance I'll end up going into production and I have an interesting take on something new I hope I can pull off. :) I wish I was gonna have something 'soon' but it'll be at least a couple of months.
