OK, I guess I can open up since everyone else is.

For as long as I can remember I've suffered from a debilitating, overwelming condition. Some days I realize that other than dealing with my ailment I got NOTHING accomplished. It can be all-consuming of my time, my thoughts, and my very actions. I've been to a few doctors but they all say they can't help as they've never seen a case as bad as mine. Cantgetenoughofwomenitis is evidently uncurable. I try to get through each day, but it's hard, just knowing that it'll be there tomorrow. Seems that there's some rare forms of treatment but they don't cure the disease, only help with the symptoms. Not to mention the treatment can be very expensive if it's even available!

OK, there! I opened up and now am going to retreat back into my shy little shell and weep myself to sleep!

Thanks for stepping up and making us laugh. At least we know ONE thing you're good for! :D

Thanks so much for the kind words! That totally makes my day. Lab: You have to be your own advocate. It's good that you're getting your education in while you're dealing with this hard situation. I had to fight my doctor tooth and nail to get my surgery. He was against it because he'd seen "people fail"
I'm not "people" I'm ME! I had done my research, and knew what I needed. But if I'd listened to the "experts" I'd have never gotten the help I needed.

Social Security Disability is such a PITA! After 10 years of collecting because of my disability they decide they want to reevaluate me now. I have to go to their doctors and I hate going to see doctors. I only go when I absolutely have to in order to get my prescriptions refilled. I sure hope I don't have problems because I haven't told my current doctor much. It doesn't do any good since there is nothing they can do for me and without good insurance they don't really want to hear it anyway.

Has anyone here gone through a reassessment and is it ever a problem?

When I went for my "physician evaluation" The doc asked me to stand up. As I was trying to stand up he said never mind, sit down. He went and called the disability office and told them that I was in such bad shape that there was no way I could even do the evaluation. He then gave me his personal phone number and told me if they turned me down again to call him and he would set them straight. He had been doing only disability evals for the last 14 years so he knew what to do. It still took a couple of months but I finally got it.
