I have a 30ml bottle of 555 Nobacco. I have used it several times to refill carts. It tastes just absolutely nasty. This is my first experience on refilling.
Here were my thoughts on what I might have done wrong:
1. Used a burned cart. (so I went out of my way to make sure I didn't do that the next time. I also washed the verified unburned cartos really well also...still nasty)
2. I might not have shaken the juice. (Nope, not that either)
3. Maybe a bad batch?
4. Maybe my first taste of 555 cartos that I liked so much was a different formulation of VG/PG? I don't know if that could be it thought because this stuff really makes me gag.
5.

I am a little disheartened, I have to admit. I am supposed to get more juice today and I don't want to waste any more carts if I am doing something wrong. I have watched all of the videos on the subject.

Any insights?

Well there is always the possibility that you received a bad bottle or that what you tried in a Carto was the Wow 555. There is also the possibility that the first carto was burnt and the second carto wasn't dry enough after being washed. I've had a bad bottle of Wow 555 and instead of warm buttery taste at first it was similar to cat piss and cigarette ash.

I wouldn't give up completely on the bottle, perhaps try one more cart but this time give the cart a few days to dry. Did you order any blank carts which might be arriving with your other bottle of juice?

Forgot to add, if you a bonus cart of a flavor you more than likely won't ever vape, a light flavor, wash that cart out if you don't have any blanks and try it since you can be 100% sure it isn't burnt.

I also vape 555s and have come to the following conclusions:
1. Refilled carts don't taste like the prefilled carts. I think this is just a fact of life.
2. Cleaned carts don't taste as good as refilled carts of the original flavor that have been refilled without cleaning.
3. Even if only vaped dry, without burning, the carts develop an aftertaste that isn't appealing.
I've taken to refilling prefilled carts of the same strength and flavor, and making sure that I don't vape them dry at any point. To me they still have a bit of an aftertaste, but I think that that may just be the norm.

I'm still pretty new at this myself, and this is only my opinion. Heck, I might be doing something wrong as well, but I have had another agree that the refilled carts just have an aftertaste as a general rule.

yes, i got some blank carts because I thought the taste may just be 'used carto' taste. I'd hate to lay this on V4L's doorstep since I *am* new and there are so many variables.
I dried them as best I could using the 'spinning' technique and letting them sit out for 24 hours.
It tastes kind of like how you would imagine an old wet cigarette would taste if you sucked on it. ew.

Yeah, I was convinced last week that my hubby had burnt out three brand new cartos but it turns out he just vaped them dry (which I never do), but man did it taste gross! After refilling a big batch of cartos, the ones he vaped dry had kind of a yucky taste the first few draws, but did get better and the yucky taste seemed to go away. I have not yet cleaned any of my cartos cuz I am still trying to make my own spinner with materials I already have. I have probably refilled my oldest carto 6-8 times. I have only had to throw one carto away, it had a hole in the tube somewhere as even a few drops from my syringe would flood the center. I agree with Rappel about the after taste, since I haven't cleaned them I can't comment on if that would help or not. I think it is still worth it to refil, economically speaking.

I honestly don't really normally wash out my carts too often, due to that after taste people normally talk about (if you wash the same flavors together it doesn't seem to be as bad though, at least in my opinion.). The times that I did wash my carts I noticed that they were still wet after 24 hours, so maybe they just weren't dry enough. Try a new cart, or maybe different juice on the same type cart that you used, like that you'll know which one it is.

I have yet to wash a carto.....I just refill with either a similar flavor, or one that will go well with the other one....such as a vanilla or butterscotch mix in any of the coffee cartos......just about any fruit will go with another fruit...or again a vanilla with a fruit......hey, maybe the vanilla will go with just about anything:)

I knew I loved vanilla for a reason:):)

As for the oven, I wasn't sure about using that with these or not.....most of the ones I have seen that use it are using the 510 cartos, but if anyone has done it, I would love to hear it......that is the one thing hindering me from washing my cartos. I do not feel comfortable leaving them to airdry.....I mean I can wash clothes and if I leave them in the washer for a day, I have to rewash...they sour.

Sometimes flavor varies Ms. Linden, or as the esteemed Snow Dragon said, could just be a bad batch. I had one nuport wow bottle that the taste was off on. I let it steep for a few days, and it was fine. There can be a lot of factors. Dripping does help until you get used to the taste change signaling refill time (I haven't burned out a carto in 3 weeks, took me almost two months to really recognize when it was time to stop)...

Ms. Keelalagirl, I have yet wash one for the same fear. I find I can refill a carrot six to seven times before it gets clogged to a point I need to toss it. Going through about 3 cartos a week.

Hi keela, I always oven dry my V4L carts. Blow or pump them out really well after cleaning, put them on a Pyrex dish at 200 for 1 hour. Turn oven off and leave overnight. They're always dry in the morning :)

I hesitate to give advice here, because I don't know nuffin' bout nuffin'. This works for me. YMMV. Standard disclaimers. Not a recommendation. Just sayin'. I don't wash, but I will blow about 4 drops of vodka through a deteriorating carrot. Not a burned one, just one that is starting to reduce in performance. It extends the life of mine before I have to toss, and they are vapable immediately with no drying time.

Either that, or I just like to vape vodka. :vapor:
