Hi to all. I've just found this UK wire supplier which looks excellent. They specialise in wire and not just for vaping Flat Wire

My question is why do your US measurements come out so different @Don29palms They've got 21 awg .91x.45mm and 24awg .68x.30mm so what gauge is .9x.3mm??

I'm guessing I need the 24 gauge as that's a normal go to build gauge.....any thoughts :)

The rectangle wire from kbeevapor.com only has the measurement and no awg. I don't know why but I do know it works very very well.

That's who I use, very good service. Ordered Thursday, wire was with me Friday lunchtime. I've no idea about US measurements, I'm still struggling from when we switched from Imperial to Metric :D.

Yeah thanks, I just had a look and it's rectangle wire as opposed to flat or flat ribbon so I guess this is the difference. I'm going to source something close from the crazy wire company and hope it works as well :)

I just looked and all the wires that I wanted were out of stock...well shows that they're popular :D

I prefer metric....soo much easier to work out stuff :)

It's all good. If you get the chance pick up some nichrome80 .9mm x .3mm rectangle wire from kbeevapor.com. It's great wire.

What size SS ribbon wire do you suggest? My preferred vaping range is .3 to .6 ohms. Sometimes higher. Sometimes lower. Thanks

I don't know about ribbon wire Sara. I just use the .9mm x .3mm rectangle wire. Kbeevapor.com has it in nichrome80 and SS. If you use the nichrome80 7 wraps 3mm ID will get you right about .44ohms with a single coil. I only use dual coils so SS is out for me.

Ok thanks for that. I may try that out since .44 is perfect for me.

You made them spaced, this is why you didn't had any hot spots.;)
It's almost impossible to wrap without spacing. I didn't intentionally space it. New experience for me. One time I wrapped some ss flat wire 0.2mm X 0.8mm and got hot spots. I never got that with ss. But then, odd things are always happening to me.
