I think we should form a book club. Small, informal, no actual required book, possible "buddy-reads" (where two people decide they're going to read and discuss a book they're both interested in), and just chit chat about books and reading and what we're vaping as we read.

I think I'm going to pick up The Hobbit later today. I never finished it, so it's time I finally got through it (it was due back at the library then, but I recently bought a copy).

I'm up for that. I've done a few buddy reads on Goodreads.

Currently I'm reading Atlas Shrugged. Damned good read and pretty scary to see how things are going that way now. Gee, I see exactly where "you didn't build that..." came from.
I'm also a big Dan Brown fan.
I just got a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and love it.
Vaping and reading definitely go well together.

Atlas shrugged took me weeks to finish, but your review is spot on.

On my phone as usual...

Yeah, it's taking me a little longer than usual to read but I'm really enjoying it.
I do agree that it should be required reading however it goes against everything they're trying to teach us now.
The outlook of this country seems to have changed big time...and not for the better.

I must concur with this statement, regardless of how depressing it is.
Did you know that they've taken cursive handwriting instruction out of schools?!

I noticed you are homeschooling your 5yo. Awesome!

Have they really?! I heard a couple of years ago that some parents (I think) were trying to get schools to stop teaching algebra because it was useless in the real world

:) We're reasonably happy with it for now, until we can move to an area with better schools.

Question to anyone who might be interested: I'm thinking of starting A Game of Thrones soon, or continuing with Tolkien. Would anyone be interested in doing the "buddy read" thing, and chatting about the book(s) as we read?

Now I'm reading The Hobbit, The Norse Myths (by Kevin Crossley-Holland), and Swedish Grammar Essentials. I'll be picking up my 2 (or maybe it's 3) copies of the Eddas, soon, to compare the various translations. My vape of choice has been Co-Kona-Nut from Free State and either Rock Party Energy from MBV or Mang-ri-la from AiV.
