Probably mentioned numerous times but to get my pet peeves on record:
- Those who feel the need to post in someone's classified ad complaining about the asking price or where the item for sale can be purchased cheaper. The asking price is the asking price. If your not interested or feel the asking price is too high, don't buy the item. You are not protecting the uninformed-you are a thread crapper. If the "unsuspecting newbie" you are trying to keep from getting ripped off cannot research their potential purchase, they either should not be buying in the classies or they should learn about the wonderful wealth of knowledge and information available to them via their keyboard and internet connection.

on this forum saying something negative about the sellers price is against the rules. so IF it happens, you can report it (click the little triangle with the ! in it at the bottom of the message) not that most people actually read the rules, but still I almost never see it in this forum.

This sale is an example:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-fs-fs-mini-satin-pv-blue-led-zap-bundle.html

People that wont even try it', I can't stand 'ignorance', just try the effin thing', its not gonna kill you, and you might even like it'.
But nooooo', wont even try to see if this might save their life. 'i'll even use a 'wet wipe' so you dont get germs, just try the effing thing.'

Agree 100%, and here we go again with what affords me time off from here on occasion to quietly contemplate life and catch up on my reading. I just don't see a rational reason for not at least trying vaping, since I think it can be demonstrated and discovered to be more enjoyable than smoking. I've said that it seems to me that the two main types of people who resist even trying vaping are those who are intent on harming themselves, and those with some sort of emotional baggage that causes them to resist change - even change that can be readily demonstrated to be for the good - or that makes it difficult or impossible for them to accept the notion that they might not have the superior strategy for keeping themselves alive and for getting the most enjoyment out of life.

They think they do have the superior strategy; and how dare I or anyone suggest that they themselves don't know how to get optimum enjoyment out of life? - at least as far as what to suck into your lungs is concerned. We've all heard it ..... "but I love my ciggies". Yes, so did I, and I think we all did; and I also think that the vast majority of us no longer love ciggies. I tell people that vaping displaces smoking as light displaces darkness, and that when you turn on a light you don't have to get rid of the darkness first. You don't have to quit smoking; you pretty much just have to start vaping - with proper equipment, and tasty juice (joose?); and smoking will just fall away naturally, like the leaves from the trees in October. [Or April, in Oz].

I also hear "but just because you find it more enjoyable doesn't at all mean that I will find it more enjoyable; enjoyment is a subjective thing". And to that I always say something to the effect of "and I find it more enjoyable to be hit with a small object as opposed to a large object, and while that too is subjective, I think it's a fairly universal sentiment, as is the sentiment that vaping is more enjoyable than smoking".

Bottom line: We've seen both sides of the coin; been there, done that, like this better, and you probably will too if you just give it an honest chance. It really does get frustrating when I offer people the use of a great setup and great juice, and they won't even try it; not until "they're ready to quit smoking". Arrrrghhh.

I just don't like seeing people harm themselves in a way that seems so unnecessary, knowing what I know for myself. It's hard for me to refrain from being the Boy Scout who wants to help the little old lady across the street, and she doesn't want to go. What if the Boy Scout is convinced that she'll come to harm if she doesn't go across the street? What is a Boy Scout to do?

Wonderfully put John,

Please bare in mind, i am not speaking about everyone in the following statement:

You know, i've noticed a complete change in people in this decade, compared to others, in the 70's and 80' and 90's....they were different, they werent so quick to say no' because it wasnt something they hadn't thought of first', or it was their idea, ...this whole defensive, 'sounds too much like authority so i'm just going to say NO off the kick'...crap is really sad to see. There are more selfish, non listening', my words mean more than yours do' people out there now..then i've EVER seen, its just sad. The whole world owes me', and so on and so forth. Man, someone shoot me back to the 70's PLEASE!

Lucky I dont have alot of friends, and aquaintances, i keep to myself, and dont have to deal with this sht on a regular basis, i'm sorry but i am a firm believer in 'ignorance is bliss'..... i dont even watch tv, everything is bad or sad news out there, ...anything i watch, is from downloading.....

the smartest thing i ever did, was NOT have kids, (sorry to all of you that do, i mean no harm in your direction), but i'll stick with my fuzzy puppies over a kid anyday.....sure sure....i'll have no one to come and see me when i'm in an elderly home', but other than that, i'm very happy that i never had kids,....I've been to a MALL'...nuff said.

Some people were just not meant to have em, i'm one of em. I probably missed out on some things with kids, that i'm sure would have been cool, playing with em and such...but i have no regrets whatsoever...

I set myself up for isolation, and quite frankly really love it... i'm doing a few POF dates, but for the main part, i keep to just me and the fuzzies. all my BEST FRIENDS, ARE ON ECF, BEST FRIENDS I'VE NEVER MET'!....maybe there's something to be said, about the way we all get along in a forum, compared to if we were all in front of each other...there's just something incredibly cool, about talking to others AND listening...its very bonding, and chock full of respect, doing it this way.

...sorry....i think i just went south there for awhile....heeeeee...

That's so funny!!! lol... It's livelihood. Unless you meant that the 'hood' is lively? I think 'hood' is American slang for the neighborhood? Or maybe Little Red Riding Hood has a pet mouse?

i hear so much about these vivi nova' things, i've been doing the smoktech tanks and dcc's, what are the vivi nova's like? are they like the tanks with dcc?, and please tell me your kidding about pouring juice back in a bottle, i do that all the time when i dont like a flavor in my tank, and want to switch to another juice.

My pet peeve is accidentally overfilling my vivi nova and having to vape like a fiend till the level drops. ( cause you know pouring it back will taint the bottle of juice ;p )

whew', okay groovy, thanks on that one'.
cool, think i'll go to utube and see what all the hoopla's about on those things.

Yes I was joking about pouring it back in. Only time I won't I'd if my juice has begun to darken due to heat exposure from the atomizer in the tank.

The vivi nova is a clearomizer. It has an atomizer with wicks that extend down into a tank.

Pet peeve - Picking up a bunch of juice at the PO and wishing you'd had the good sense to ask them to also send another couple of Vivi Novas for the new flavors that smell soooooo good.

Yeah…that one's bugged me in the past. But they'd get unmanageable if I had many more of them.

People that wont even try it', I can't stand 'ignorance', just try the effin thing', its not gonna kill you, and you might even like it'.
But nooooo', wont even try to see if this might save their life. 'i'll even use a 'wet wipe' so you dont get germs, just try the effing thing.'

I actually had some extra, just-washed drip tips in a baggie when I went to dragoncon in case anyone wanted to try it……no one asked. But, fortunately, people knew what they were because the panelists were using little POS Cig-a-likes at a Venture Brothers panel and the entire security/tech staff knew that they were okay in the hotels because allowing that required the permission of the Fire Marshall.

Unfortunately, the only things people have wanted to try are the cig-a-like things, and I firmly believe that they're not good enough to convert someone who just randomly tries one unless they just plain want to.

Then again, no matter how good it is, just tasting one won't convert someone unless they just want to convert…just like quitting any drug. It's too bad. But, a lot of people still find vaping. And that's fine.

People that come out of a restaurant , look at me , and start coughing.
People that say I didn't quit smoking.
People that call this an "electronic cigarette". It's not
People that say that nicotine causes cancer.

I haven't had someone fake-cough me yet, but being able to talk intelligently about drugs and addiction really helps.

My current pet peeve: my regular postal carrier apparently took saturday off, and I have some juice that's somewhere because the vendor forgot to put my apartment number on it. My regular carrier probably would have noticed my name, but the guy filling in for him didn't. And I have no idea where it is. I'll have to call them again in about 45 minutes to see if it's still there or if it got sent back.

Yea this is annoying, most of my friends my age who smoke tried it and at least gave me their "It's interesting but..." input, my niece (step niece) who is 18 acted like a total fool and coughed as if it were the most painful thing in the world... (she smokes Newports....). Back on topic, my Dad, 48, refuses to try it, AT ALL, he says "If I want to quit smoking, I'll just quit" and "that's too much hassle, I don't want to have to refill something and carry this and that and blah blah blah..." I just kind of ignore him since we both have the 'fight to the death' gene, when we argue it gets pretty heated and nothing gets accomplished... I've gotten both of my to-be-parent-in-laws to try it, tbFIL coughs on every flavor he tries, tbMIL is super interested, wants to quit smoking and desperately wants to start vaping (she doesn't know that in my GotVapes shopping cart sits a brand new 18650 eGo mod for her =p)

You're absolutely right about the complete change thing... I'm not old enough to know first hand about people in the 70's and 80's however I do know this... Since the government has started using scare tactics on people about products and people it has become increasingly difficult to convince people to try new things, especially when it comes to something that might help them leave the evil stinkies! I tried all the traditional methods (patch, gum, lozenge) to no avail... but I refuse to take actual medication (welbutrin, chantix, etc...) to do so, since they are ALL anti-depressants of some sort... I just don't like prescription meds, and I never really have...

As far as having children goes, I can understand where you're coming from, I'm still young and I know how I was not that many years ago, and I know how STUPID teenagers are today... I know that it will be a challenge but my fiancé and I are expecting in March and I couldn't be happier to be becoming a father =D
(But animals sure are amazing little pals!)

I'll have to call them again in about 45 minutes to see if it's still there or if it got sent back.

I watched one best friend suffer through severe depression in high school and get slapped on so many different medications she was never herself... then watched my long time best friend suffer with addiction to pain killers, which then led to Heroine because it was cheaper... well lets just say that that ended in the worst way that kind of addiction can... I have a lot of firsthand experience when it comes to addiction, and people just don't care to listen! it's ridiculous. People seem to have this misconception that everyone must be lying! If my doctor, the TV or the internet didn't tell me, it mustn't be true! The worst part of this is:

1. Doctors want your money, sure there are some honest docs out there still, and I appreciate the service they provide and hope that they live well and prosper, however this world has become so much about money that the majority of the time this isn't the case.. prepare to be over-prescribed!
2. Though the internet is the epicenter of information, and I use it at least 10 times a day to get information about this and that, nothing gathered here should be ultimately considered fact without a second professional opinion, ESPECIALLY medical information!
3. TV = Government propaganda. The Government does not give a flying .... about the people here in the US, the government wants our money, period end of story... If this weren't the case tobacco and alcohol (the two biggest killers in the world) would be outlawed, and the stupid laws prohibiting something with medical benefits that has never caused a death EVER would be legal, and readily available... (That last statement also denotes how financially stupid our government is considering the sheer amount of money that could be made with taxes.)

Lastly, in that last statement I just want to say I no longer indulge in that particular activity, and probably never will again, but I did for a long time, and it helped me with a lot of things, and never actually hurt me! (Though the panic attacks it eventually brought on were not fun, that is a 'symptom' limited to a select group of users)

Being on the road with vape mail at home

I noticed a bit of sarcasm earlier about my pet peve about calling juice/liquid e-liquid/e-juice..

Suggesting that it may be called e-juice/e-liquid because it is used in an electronic cigarette.. But that is my main problem with it..
Like every accessory for iPhone or iPad has to have a randomly placed "i" at the front of it.. Its like nails on a chalk board for me..
Everytime i hear someone say e-juice/e-liquid i cringe.. and Im not being metaphoric with this.. It LITERALLY makes me cringe when
im watching a review and the review says "Ok now grab your e-juice and fill up the tank". There is a physical discomfort that i
experience when i hear it..

I wouldnt call a DVD player a eDisk player.. Or a video camera a eCamcorder or the remote to my car an eVOB and they have
electronics in them.

Please stop it, it physically hurts me to hear it.. Just call it Juice or Liquid and be done with it!

...sorry....i think i just went south there for awhile....heeeeee...

No worries Meems - the south is lovely this time of the year, and I enjoyed hearing all about your trip. :)

I never had any kids either (AFAIK), and my little boy here is all I seem to need:

are you lookin' at me.jpgcute in bed.jpgJingle Dog in bed - cropped.jpg

His name is Dominic, and he's "the son I never had". :)

i hear so much about these vivi nova' things, i've been doing the smoktech tanks and dcc's, what are the vivi nova's like? are they like the tanks with dcc? .....

Meems, they're just great; not perfect, but great. And they can be customized/rebuilt, as discussed in this huge thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ystems/295410-vivi-nova-rebuild-tutorial.html

Couple more links:

Just haul off and get a couple; I really think you're going to like them.

You've got my vote! :) And if calling it x-xxxxxx causes you physical pain, I will do my best to never use the term. Around here, I pretty much just call it juice, but it's tougher out in the real world, where it needs to be differentiated from apple juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice ...... it's a toughie, but maybe there'll be a terminology breakthrough that will ease your suffering. Come on, people - we can do this! :)

***

And this brings me squarely to "Personal Vaporizer". 'Nuff said about that. :p
