started with malbaro 15 years ago.
about 2 years into smoking i switch to nat sherman naturals light.

about 7 years into smoking i decided i no longer liked the taste of analogs so i started popping those listerine mint strips in my mouth before smoking.

I now only vape, and I vape flavors that have nothing to do with tobacco. current favorite is green tea and cola.

You forget how good it is to breath right, and taste Your food and also fined out how bad You would stink!!!

Marb Reds, switched to Basic full flavor when I realized they were cheaper, switched to Camel 99's when I dated a guy who paid for all my cigs, switched to wides for a while, smoked Kamel Reds when I had the extra cash, but mostly smoked Pall Mall red 100s lately.

I kicked smoking for 3 days, but then I went to Olympia to lobby for/against some stuff regarding college...My male friend made me incredibly uncomfortable the whole trip, and I caved and bought a pack of Kamel Reds...apparently, I need to ease myself into this before quitting 100%. :(

Unfortunately, I was fine until this weekend. D: Those 3 cig-free days were painless.

Haven't quit yet (510 is in the mail)..but here's the brief history.

Started with Djarum Blacks 3 years ago.
Upgraded to a carton of Sampoerna A Mild 16's for a few months a year later (best clove ever made, hands down).
Back to Djarum (more affordable).
Quit for 5 months (not so easy the first time around, definitely not so easy this time around).
Went to Germany, immediately started bumming cigarettes (job was stressful and everybody smokes apparently, lol)..then got hooked on Lucky Strikes for the next 5 months or so.
Came back state side and it's been either Marlboro Lights or Camel Crushes..currently Crushes are chilling in my car and I'm looking forward to tossing them in the trash when the 510 arrives. :)

This thread should have a poll, all top brands and a "other" imo. :)

For me it was Marlboro reds, nothing else cut it for me. Its what my Dad smoked and as a rebel 13 year old, thats where I started. I was especially think headed to continue to smoke after my Dad passed away from lung caner in 99'. My uncle just recently found out he has lung caner also, so it for sure runs in my family. I'm so glad to finally have a solution for those damned things.

I made a list off the top of my head consisting of all the different brands and types I've had.

It ran to 214. 8-o The addiction had transcended normal boundaries and crossed into hobby, then way of life. Pipes, cigars, even tried dip, block chew, and nasal snuff.

The ten most popular for me were (in no order):

1) Marlboro lights
2) Marlboro Ultra Lights
3) Kamel Red
4) Kamel Red Lights
5) Lucky Strike filtered
6) Dunhill International Red
7) Manitou Purple (40mg) 8-o
8) Nat Sherman NY Cut Blue
9) American Spirit Mediums
10) Chesterfield Red

Being a hobby, price was far outweighed by "Gee! Never saw those before--I'll take a pack!", exemplified by one particular instance where I saw a silver pack of Treasurer and bought them without even asking how much they were... which was $30. For a pack of twenty. Being the kinda guy I am I only smoked about ten of them and "bummed" out the rest to friends. :D

Experimented w/ various brands back in my way-under-age smoker phase (wait until nobody's watching & real quick flip $.60 in the machine then walk away fast)--Winston, Marlboro (Reds--Lights hadn't been foisted on the world yet), Viceroy, Old Gold filters (yummy--strong, a popular teen brand where I was). Settled on Reds when I became of age. Would sometimes binge on Winston 100s (gold pack) in the '70s, and loved them so much I had to steer away or smoke myself out of house and home. Had a couple health-conscious phases--Merit (yech) and Vantage (not so bad). Back to Reds. Have smoked Medium 100s since they came out in the early '90s. Still up in the air about vaping--hoping I can find a flavor and routine that will make me not miss cigarettes. Knowing my smoker self, I suspect I'll be monogamous (or at least serially monogamous) with my juice choice.

You folks need to kick me out, as writing this made me TOO nostalgic!
