No more votes for the 808s. Sigh. :) As well. Might have to try the Boge cartos then, for awhile at least. I got a load of Fusions in with an 801 to 901 adapter, but when it is screwed onto the 808 top cap with the IKV adapter there's no draw at all. If you don't screw the carto down all the way it works, but of course it's terribly wobbly. (The Fusion is VERY good, BTW. I like it a lot so far.)

hmmm... I'll take the Dremel to the adapter this weekend and see if it can be slotted for better air flow. Might just have to pick up an 801 cap... heh! Looking forward to trying the M1A1!

I was a huge fan of 808s for the longest time, capt. Now I am a Fusion convert - I exchanged my 808 cap for an 801 and am very glad for it - no adapters, woot! :)

I picked it up from Ikenvapes, with a handful of Fusions. He has three adapter types, it was the rightmost one on the page, gold colored (matches the BP brass topcap nicely).

By o-ring, I mean the little black o-ring on the outside edge of the 808 connector on the BP. Buzz includes one for people who want to use 901 atties, but it is not needed for 808 or for use with the 901/801 adapter. I removed that o-ring, as well as changing the center contact from the round Phillips screw to a flat slotted one, and life's been good.

I was lurking on another forum and they are saying that the 801 cartos that another supplier sells are the exact same carto that is referred to as "fusion" at Ikenvape. Any truth to this? 5C...what do you think? I thought Isaac supposedly made his own cartos?
The only thing the same is the threads. Someone is blowing smoke. Isaac engineers his cartomizers to his own design and specs. Other people know how good his are so they say these things trying to sell their inferior products using his name. Mike runs into the same thing with his PVs.

No more votes for the 808s. Sigh. :) !
I use the mega 808 in one of my tanks and they are awesome cartomizers.

I just ordered the M1A1 and a bunch of boge cartos(unpunched). Whats the best way to punch/cut these for best results? Ive never used a tank system so im not sure how to go about this to get best results. I diy my own juice 100%vg if that makes a difference, but I usually thin it out pretty good with vodka. Not sure if juice thickness requires different hole size/placement. And Ive never used cartos before either, Ive been using the ego-t for several months but now have an Infinity Pro. Well, technically the post office has my Ipro but it should get here soon.

If by any chance you have a dremel, with cutting wheel (looks like a thin, round, sanding disk, but it's actually a tube cutter), slotting is easy. Horizontal slot, about 1/4" up from the bottom. I just grip the mouth end of the carto gently, in a pair of vice grips (with piece of paper towel around the carto). It'll spark a lot while doing the cutting. Don't go too deep -- I slot until a little under 1/4" of the filler is exposed horizontally.

Practice on an old carto, to check that you are slotting at the right height. Put the slotted carto into the tank (a bit of pg or vg is good to lube it at first). Ideally the slot will be just a little way up from the bottom of the tank
Safety glasses are always good to use with rotary tools.

Thanks for tips! I do have a dremel with some small cut off wheels, I'll give that a try. Is it possible to make a cut too big and cause flooding? Is there any kind of performance differences between a punched carto vs a dremeled carto? And im guessing that using a dremel can cause the carto to get hot, can that cause problems?

I've slotted NHaler jumbo 808, v4l coolcart, Ikenvape fusions, no problem with any of them. The coolcart I'm using now has an extra large slot (I was sloppy), and I use a pretty thin DIY (mostly PG, with alcohol base flavors) zero leakage issues on the M1A1. No issue with the filler, either -- you don't want to deeply gouge it, but if you have the vicegrips resting on a table/bench it's easy to be gentle with the cutting head.

The dremel works so well that I don't bother punching, other than for a couple of test ones I did early on. Fast, decent slot, easy to keep from messing up the filler.
